“5 star Top rating for the location and amenities. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the second floor. Maverick, the hotel front desk concierge, was very friendly and patient with us. He welcomed us on our first day and answered all of our questions. “Tortuguero is such a cute town! We weren’t sure we wanted to make the drive but we loved it. The boat ride from La Pavona is beautiful and the town is great for walking around and shopping. We took a guided night hike and saw a turtle laying eggs on the beach! The staff were very nice and helpful and the air conditioning in the rooms was nice. Only stayed one night but loved it!”

“AC was excellent and much needed in hot, humid climate. Awesome view. Family room was excellent for cost value. Unfortunately, new obnoxious bar next door plays terrible music late into the night. Not the fault of the guesthouse and maybe not an issue mid week. ”

“This guest house is great. The staff are so helpful. Emmanuel on reception contacted us in advance to give us really useful travel advice. The ferry dropped us straight to the guest house so we didn’t have to carry our bags a long distance. We were in the lagoon room which had an amazing view. Really good value for money. I definitely recommend this place. ”

“turtles were amazing and a great experience overall! had no hot water. I understand there is no electricity but why not put a barrel on top of the building and paint it black? Also had no choice when to leave the place but with a 10am boat which was early given the overnight search for turtles, would have been nice to stay longer, the place is nice and peaceful.”

“Unfortunately I was unable to enjoy a stay at the Casa Grande. There is no road to the place, i.e. they have to pick you up by boat. I sent an e-mail, left two WhatsApp messages and tried calling 4 times, all to no avail. Even 2 days later I have not heard from them. I ended up in Parismina without any recourse to get to the place, and so I had to find a different accommodation there. Very unfortunate. If you can book this place in the morning for the evening, the resort must respond, otherwise...

“It might not be as fancy as it's neighbouring Resorts but what it lacks in this makes up in Manager & staff friendly, going out of there way to make it a memorable stay. Can't thank the Manager enough, helping us out on tours, getting into town and also connecting us to the next destination, making it stress free and it's just a chilled resort, yes it's basic but we loved it, great little pool which Son made as much use of it as possible and well the wildlife around the resort was just amazing!...

“L'esperienza delle tartarughe è valsa il viaggio. Attenzione che può essere faticosa. Dicono che si cammina due km tra andata e ritorno. Noi ne abbiamo fatti lameno 5, a passo di carica, probabilmente perchè il posto in cui si erano avvistate le tartarughe era relativamente più lontano del solito Eccellente esercizio, ma se uno è già stanco...L'escursione in canoa vale abbastanza la pena.”

“Brilliant hotel in a great beach-front location. The room was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was very good. The staff were all very nice and extremely helpful, particularly Leo who was regularly ensuring that we were happy with everything. Breakfast is made to order to suit your preferences and was very tasty. Nice hammocks to relax in. The staff even took our luggage to the dock for us”

“Worst experience I have ever made with a Hotel. Not sure if the other reviews are bought or not. We had a room with blood stains, the „booked out hotel“ was filled with 1 family, sheets weren’t washed and yellowish and we were asked to smoke crack by a homeless man in front of the Hotel. They charged 140€ for the boat pickup, after all we left after 1 day because of the condition of the room. Even though we got promised a refund we got nothing back but one night. Terrible.”

“What a great place, the owners make to so! Everything was perfect! Hope to return one day! The construction has really impacted them... Had to drive along the closed road to get to them when we went... Said it's been under construction for 4 years! Gonna be a super freeway by there someday.”

“Very nice owners and the cabin was super clean and well equipped. The double bed is not very big, but it is comfortable. The entrance is from the main street and is a bit steep, but a 4x4 is not required, we drove the way up with a sedan. During the day, you can hear the trucks drive by on the main road, but at night it is mostly quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was amazing!”
