“Our room was on the 3rd floor and we were not told there was not an elevator. The sheets and blankets had holes. One cake of soap was provided. It was the size of a quarter and was for 2 people for 2 days. The mattress was very uncomfortable with a dip in the center. The furniture was very worn with torn chairs. The hotel does have a good location.”

“They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.”

“We had a lovely oceanside stay here. The hotel has a quiet, charming, homey feel. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast is homemade and delicious. I only wish the breakfast would be served a bit earlier than 8 am.”

“The location is literally AT the beach. Food and groceries are very close by, as are restaurants.”

“Loved the breakfast, room was clean although a little beat up. Beach view was from the side window and not front view from a balcony. This is how the hotel was built. Over all, we would stay again. ”

“Front desk staff, Janet and Dianne were very nice and helpful, although at the time of check in our room was not ready, Janet made every effort to accommodate us!! Clean and quiet room, easy parking. we definitely recommend this location. ”

“Ma che brutto questo posto!!! Le foto del motel riprese dall'alto ingannano, così come le foto delle camere, sono proprio brutte; appena si entra si sente odore di muffa, il condizionatore fa freddo ma non toglie l'umidità e inoltre fa un rumore infernale. Siamo stati tre notti in questo posto e non hanno mai fatto le camere, cambiavano solo gli asciugamani. Bagno minuscolo. Pulizia da migliorare. Porta di ingresso indecente così anche quella specie di portico con due sedie un vaso con sabbia...

“La stanza non era pulita, sedie arrugginite, scarico della doccia non funzionante, alla prima doccia la vasca si è riempita d'acqua e non è stato possibile fare altre docce, purtroppo non abbiamo trovato nessuno a cui chiedere di risolvere il problema.”
