“The rooms were very comfortable (best sleep we had on our trip to Costa Rica) and we loved the pool, the beach, the sunsets, and the star gazing at night. We were there with our family. It is a bit remote so good idea to bring games and snacks if traveling with kids. The restaurant on the premise is expensive but serves creative dishes by a Michelin star chef using local ingredients.”

“We weren't prepared for how remote this property is and the extended rainy season made it even more so with very poor road conditions. Be sure to stock up on EVERYTHING you'll need before going up there as a trip to any store or restaurant will be lengthy. We had to leave after staying only one of our two nights as we just didn't have enough food. “We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. Lolo was an excellent host and if you do stay you must take advantage of her dinners. Incredibly romantic. The location is perfect. Quick drives to Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas and Playa Conchal. Great places to explore and then return to the peace and tranquility of the lodge. Absolutely perfect. ”

“Fantastic hotel, restaurant, and hospitality. We stayed in a suite... it was clean, quiet, comfortable, and had amazing water pressure in the shower. It was a perfect night sleep. We used the pool, ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and the ocean is a short walk to a quiet beach!
