“Okay so. Staff were kind and friendly so I was conflicted when writing this review. I reserved 2 rooms. 1 was fine but the other smelled like mildew. We kept the bathroom fan running and the window ajar but couldn’t escape the odor. Possible the room was closed up after shampooing carpets, not sure. The bathroom did appear to have mildew along the floor at bathtub. I’m sure they would have given us a new room and in reflection, I’m not sure why I didn’t ask. Prob tired from the trip. “This is not a fancy-schmancy hotel but it was perfect for a birder on a budget and had everything I needed at half the price of the place up the street. Well, almost everything - a blow dryer would have made it perfect! The check-in dude was funny and helpful and there's an EV charging station just down the street so I'd definitely stay here again. But think about adding blow dryers. Even birders like to look their best!”

“My room was clean, neat, and very not creepy. Tbh I thought I had gotten a reservation for Motel 6 but this place was cool and down to earth. I thought every place had a bad side of town. I thought this was gonna be horrible. Nothing happened. It's Willows California. It has maybe 3000 people in it if that. I met a super cool dude there along with the owners who were super helpful. It's actually a great place to stay on the cheap. All in all 5 stars because of the staff, owners, and renters...
