“Great stay a the Stag - bar staff were excellent and the food was absolutely fantastic . Rooms were spacious and really really clean and comfortable with comfy beds and great bathrooms . Parking was really easy and the welcome was superb . ”

“The breakfasts were good, although they weren't included, but it was hard to get an evening meal. The room I stayed in was near the road and boiler/ air conditioning so it was very noisy so I slept very badly. The fire alarm went off early in the morning and we didn't get any information from the staff so didn't know if it was safe to return to our rooms. Although geographically it worked well I wouldn't stay there again.”

“No air conditioning, staff wasn’t knowledgeable about local restaurants, 10 lb charge for early check in, another person that was staying there ate dinner at about 5:00 pm and he left his silverware and a mess on the table and no staff person cleaned it up till the following morning. I wouldn’t stay there again”

“When you stay at the Maids Hotel, the one thing that is fixed in your mind is “stairs” unless you can cope with stairs at every turn, this is not the hotel for you. This is because the hotel is a heritage building and it doesn’t lend itself to easy step free access. I had a single room on the 3rd floor to get to it from reception I had to go up a couple of steps and down a corridor to the lift up to 3rd floor, from there I had go up stairs, down stairs multiple times before reaching the...
