“We stayed at Langley Castle Wednesday and Thursday. The castle itself is stunning, towering stone walls, peaceful grounds and interiors that balance medieval character with modern comfort. “Great hotel. The location is fantastic, the staff go above and beyond. A favourite spot for a getaway with opportunity to walk, visit High Force waterfall, have a drink in the cosy bar and dine in the elegant dining room. Breakfast was great - the food is obviously local and fresh.”

“The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. No restaurants in the area except the inn's one, where it's possibile to eat until 8.30 pm. Excellent beer until late. The toilet area is really tiny, but the rooms are lovely.”

“Basic hotel, but clean room and comfortable bed. Staff really friendly and helpful. Stay included breakfast, but limited really to takeaway style bags in which to take your choices to your room, or sit at small tables in reception. Would probably give it a miss if staying again. Location is in the middle of large industrial estate, so whilst its cheap, and ok just to put your head down for a night or two, it is limited in what it can offer to tourists.”

“A good option for a family visiting Durham University or, as we did, attending a graduation ceremony. Only a 20-minute drive from the centre of Durham, but cheaper than staying centrally in Durham. Friendly staff, good full English breakfast. We had a room that slept 4 people, which looked relatively recently renovated with ensuite shower and toilet. Shower was good.”

“Our room had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable & shower hot & powerfull. We ate on two nights - the food was very good & service quick. The only thing we didn't like was the peas which we both left. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice. We had eggs florentine & the full cooked breakfast.
