Guest house a Rions

“This is a rustic, two bedroom cottage property about a 35 minute walk (uphill!) to St Emilion old town. Located in the the vineyards, it's fine if you have a bicycle or similar. It's only 5 mins by car but then you have parking to deal with in the town. It's on a slightly dusty track to don't arrive in heels or immaculate white clothing. Warmly welcomed by Hassan, his wife and daughter, I was shown the shared downstairs area and my room. They do not live on the property. No elevator...

“Stayed for 3 nights in the top floor room with the spiral staircase. You enter the room and there are 2 chairs to enjoy sitting with the balcony open. The spiral staircase is unique and we loved it, just take your time up and down, that’s all. Bedroom, and bathing area are beautifully decorated. Bed is very comfortable. We had the best sleep, so quiet. The grounds are so well kept, you feel like you’re in a private park with a castle. The breakfast is incredible, homemade yogurts, fruit,...

“The team at Chateau Bonalgue went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Special thanks to Anton for giving us a tour of the property and for answering all our questions on the wine making process. It’s really fascinating ! Our room was quaint and cosy. And it was nice to have access to the large and modern living room 24/7. My husband and I highly recommend a stay at Chateau Bonalgue to anyone looking for an experience less impersonal than a hotel reservation.”

“Lieu magnifique et calme. Personnel très sympathique”

“It was an absolute delight to stay with Nathalie and Olivier who have lovingly restored the Chateau. They were charming hosts and made the stay one to remember. The renovation of the chateau provides a modern and spacious room that has also retained the charm of the old building. The meals were delightful and prepared by the hosts using fresh local produce. I'd thoroughly recommend Malis Castera to anyone wanting to stay in the wine region.”

“Very unique place. Beautiful room. Amazing location. Breakfast on the terrace Staff absolutely wonderful If I’m ever back in Bordeaux this is where I will stay.”
