“Excellent stay in a quiet location”

“We had a lovely short stay in this attractive stone pub with lots of character.. The location is perfect for Lancaster and the University nearby. The rooms are of a high standard and very clean. Food was good and staff pleasant and helpful. The lovely garden at the back was ideal for a relaxing pre dinner drink. Thank you, we will definitely recommend to our friends!”

“Breakfast was very good. Room a bit small and no drawers to put any thing. Staffs are good. The only problem is they didn't make up my room even though I put up the sign.”

“The room was neat and tidy yet very little space for a double room, more like a single room. Some staff were more conscientious than others at breakfast time. The menu was more akin to a good pub rather than a nice hotel. The setting was superb but the property was undergoing refurbishment which spoilt it a bit.”

“We’d had a fantastic lunch on our last trip to Cartmel which influenced our overnight stay to break our journey home and we were not disappointed! We arrived to a warm welcome, and the most amazing and relaxing room. The bed was soooo comfortable along with a spacious bathroom. We had another fantastic meal in the evening meal; very seasonal with what I feel would be daily changes depending on market availability. There was a fantastic selection of beers and wine along with a whole of host...

“Really enjoyed our stay. Designated parking for the hotel guests. The staff are very friendly. Check in was quick and smooth. Nice and comfortable room. We had dinner in the pub and the staff were great and so was the food/ drink. Had very good night sleep and then a really good quality breakfast the next morning. Will happily stay again in future.”
