“The breakfast times could have been later, as finished at 9am on Monday. The bar was supposed to close at 11pm but was closed by 10.15pm. The rooms were basic and shower not powerful. However, were clean and still had everything that was needed. Lots of choice of food and drink and fresh.”

“Lovely Grade II Georgian building, excellent staff, room is tidy and functional, breakfast is superb and right in the centre of town near everything you need, i have stayed multiple times and always book here, the rooms need a bit of TLC for a romantic get away and it would be nice if the had a Deafguard for visitors with hearing issues for the fire alarm. Would i stay again? yes already booked for next month.”

“We managed to park easily and as our room was ready we were allowed to check in at 1 o’clock . Very good position and so easy to get into the town centre .”

“Contracted property earlier in the afternoon to request a early check-in as weather was bad, left a message but no-one got back to me. Eventually braved the rain and went to the property, no reply when I rang the bell. Looked on-line for possible other contact number to see that the property was closed. As the town was busy that weekend there was no affordable places for me and my daughter to stay so the only option we had was to head to train station and buy tickets to return to Newcastle. This...
