Hotel a Saint Charles

“We booked here because it was well rated. Sadly our experience was not. When we arrived, the door to the lobby was locked even though it was within the hours they stated they would be open. We called the number posted on the door and got a generic voicemail that never stated the name of the hotel or anything. We left a message and sat in the parking lot for 30 minutes. Eventually, someone did appear, stating they weren’t aware the door was locked and didn’t know what was going on with the phones...

“It was very clean and nice view of the lake and amphitheater. No matter how much air freshener they used, I could smell the smoke from the casino. The walls were very thin.”

“Checking in wasn’t the best experience. I was told I had booked 2 rooms with Expedia when it was only one. Then after checking I was wondering if the breakfast was still included like I had seen online? I had to go back to the desk to ask because she didn’t tell me anything about breakfast!”

“I try to be not too critical of Super 8s, because you get what you pay for. However, the property is tucked in behind a Quality Inn and is cumbersome to access, with views of the Quality Inn just a few feet away. Okay. There is no elevator, and therefore, no luggage carts. The luggage rack in my room was broken. The desk chair back was failing, and the decor throughout was depressing. Clean, yes — that’s good, but dingy, also yes. Breakfast was continental — lots of carbs, no protein,...

“Friendly,clean and good breakfast”

“Room was very clean and the area was very quiet and restful. Staff was friendly. The dining room for breakfast was spacious and there were plenty of breakfast choices including a waffle maker. My husband was able to get a mixed drink in the evening at the bar. We enjoyed our stay.”

“Room was pretty clean over all. Property outside had bedding and clothing laying all around. It was obviously an old building. Pool room was not great. Very old cobwebs all over and a large spider IN the POOL. Pool towels were not available. Breakfast was ok. The usual; eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, and cereal. Tiffany was great and as helpful as she could be, with what she had to work with.”

“Staff was very helpful and rooms were perfectly cleaned. The price for the room was very acceptable. My only complaint would be the water pressure when I showered. I would definitely stay there again.”

“The carpet was a little stained bathroom cracks on all the walls and ceiling. Shower leaked. Bed was rock hard sheets were scratchy. Breakfast was horrible. They had day old bread and muffins over cooked hard biscuits zero to no fruit, no yogurt and no milk for the cereal. What is the point of having a continental breakfast? If there's nothing you can actually eat. Oh, and the decaf coffee had grounds and lumps in it. 2 other guest refused to drink it and warned me of it.”

“Grandkids loved the indoor pool and jacuzzi (also there's a sauna), and game room. I appreciated the 2 sinks in the room, with one being outside the bathroom. With 4 of us it was so much easier getting ready. Good breakfast, outdoor eating areas and random places to relax and socialize throughout the hotel.”
