“I loved this place. There was an update in 2016 and someone made the mistake of getting white carpet. Live and learn. The bed was comfortable, there was a variety of pillows, the tavern shuts down at 9:00 so its all quiet by 11:00 p.m. The tavern is superb. I’d eat there again in a heartbeat. The place is old and has some quirks and that’s something that you either like because you like historical places or you don’t because you like modern things. I’d stay here again. ”

“We were a little hesitant to book a room because of the negative reviews, but went ahead with it because the photos looked good. Yes, the hotel is undergoing renovation, and that should be mentioned on Expedia. We had no trouble finding the temporary entrance, the staff was friendly and courteous. Our room and bathroom were very clean, the bed comfortable. We were given fresh towels and toiletries every day. We had no issues whatsoever with the construction, and will absolutely stay here again...
