The room smelled bad, the carpets were original to the 70's - had mildew or something wrong. - In and out didn't have time to request another room - sure they figured out how to replace carpets in other rooms.

Sorry for the odors in your room, our hotel team is replacing carpets this week in the hotel due to some wear and damage. Our hotel team however is on site 24 hours to assist where if any issue arises we are happy to help too. I do hope you enjoyed your visit however to San Francisco. Bill Engelhardt General Manager

Rude and Unfriendly Staff

Contro: Have the staff be more prepared and helpful. It also appeared they were understaffed.
We booked the hotel for the night of 2/11/17 which was the night of the Lunar New Year parade(we were not aware of this). We were expecting traffic given that we were in the city but waited patiently to get to the Executive Hotel Vintage Court to realize the street towards is was blocked off. Our GPS continually re-routed us but each way blocked us off when we were just a block away. I politely called the front desk and spoke to Ronnie. I explained what streets we took and asked if he knew of an alternative way to get to the hotel. I understand that he was stressed because it was dead stop traffic but his first response to me was "oh no there's no way". He went on and on how it was the New Year parade and that he is having issues with parking and told me to call back. Eventually we find an opening and reach the hotel. I call back again and Ronnie picks up once again. I ask him how do we valet our car because there is no visible sign to do so and that the line was full. We pull off into the alley street to avoid blocking traffic and Ronnie tells us that we had to be right in front of the hotel. He said that he does not see us so I made sure he stayed on the phone as I made my way into the hotel in which he was sitting at his desk the whole time. He ignored our phone call in which I politely flagged the valet guy for help. I was not pleased that we were not assisted in finding the hotel when we were paid guests! Would not recommend.

Dear Ms. Nguyen: Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and our apologies that your check in process and arrival by driving to the hotel was not easy. Our hotel being in a local downtown urban location along with the highly attended “Chinese New Year” parade blocked off the street access for one to park the car. Our service team is always on site to help and in your case was difficult where our reception desk is not right at the hotel entry with our parking loading zone for direct guidance. While our guest service staff is always happy to assist, in your case the alley of the hotel is not a parking area and guests have had cars towed. However as you noted our valet and bellman/doorman team were happy to assist you directly upon arrival. If the services for parking or the hotel require any further review please, we be happy to help too. I do hope however you enjoyed your visit to San Francisco and again appreciated the feedback. Great location by union Square, China Town,

Ronnie & Rene we great employees. Very friendly and helpful. The free wine email from 5-6 was great by the fire in the lobby. Cable car stop was on the corner. Sears dinner 1 block away great breakfast. Hotel is vintage but very clean and comfy. Would stay there again.

Staff was pleasant, rooms were comfortable and clean, locations is great for sight seeing.

Nice hotel, nice neighborhood. Stayed there for one night for an interview; within walking distance of union. Friendly staff and the name says it all: "executive" plus "vintage." Very modern and classic feel.

Bad experience with awful air and disturbed staff.

So bad!! The air inside room is awful.And the room is crowded. The house keeping knocked the door for 4 times in the same morning and she just opened the door. And the minibar price is not notiable for people. And it's so much unreasonable expensive.

Dear recent guest, our apologies if any air or odor was in your room yet our hotel team is on-site 24 hour to assist if issues arise. Also, sorry for any disturbances from our housekeeping staff, yet do no disturb signs are provide to avoid this in the future. Lastly, yes our in room honor bar items are slight higher that a local market but it for the convenience verses the price. Lastly, I do hope you enjoyed you visit to San Francisco. Nice traditional style hotel

The hotel had a friendly atmosphere. The adjoining restaurant was closed, and so there was not any in-house dining services. The neighborhood is on the fringes of Union square offerings, but my husband was experiencing severe back problems so walking more than a block was a problem. We had a late flight arrival, so we went to bed hungry. Our small room was taken up by our King bed. Otherwise, once we adjusted, we slept well, and the staff was very helpful for our two nights. I would not recommend the hotel for a longer stay. Also, the bath was beautifully updated and they had nice toiletries and good coffee.
