“You get what you pay for but no complaints at all. The staff we came across were friendly and helpful. Our room was basic and clean but had what we needed. Breakfast is self service . Good choice and great views across the valley. It’s a good 10 minutes walk from the train station, all up hill so a taxi may be needed if you mobility is not too good. ”

“Piccolo fabbricato sul fianco della collina che scende al mare, con giardino, piccola piscina coperta e ottima vista. Gestione familiare, gli arredi e gli interni in generale riflettono la semplicità e la schiettezza dei proprietari Ottima la colazione e la qualità del sonno.”

“The host was superb and very accommodating to our needs. We needed to stay another night and he graciously made room for us. He helped us locate restaurants, bus stops and Exeter sites. And he was a pleasant conversationalist. He always made us feel welcome.”

“A conduzione familiare,il posto é meraviglioso,curato nei minimi particolari.Siamo stati accolti dalla proprietaria calorosamente.Ci ha fatto scegliere la camera che preferivamo e ci ha offerto un caffè con due cup cake nella sala relax.Ci ha dato anche indicazioni su dove cenare e su come muoverci.La camera é piccola ma funzionale,con set per la preparazione di the o caffè con biscotti e caramelle.La colazione é varia ed abbondante.Se dovessimo capitare in zona ci torneremo di sicuro.”

“Fantastic traditional B&B close the centre of Dawlish and a short walk from all transport options. We booked last minute but the hosts Ian and Nikki were pleased to accommodate us and provided comfortable clean rooms and a delicious award winning breakfast. Only caveat is the car park is relatively tight and might present a problem for drivers of larger SUVs but Ian was on hand upon arrival to greet arriving guests and ensure the parking worked out. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will...

“The room was spacious, the bed was huge and comfy, the bathroom was spotless with a deep bath, shower, and plenty of hot water. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. Having an area outside with our own garden table and chairs was great. Would certainly stay again. ”

“Just staying a couple of nights in Exeter on a cycling trip. This was economical and convenient, about 15 minute walk into the centre. Room was typical student accommodation: compact, en suite toilet and shower, Wi-Fi/Tea Making/towels / no TV. Room was clean, check-in was easy with friendly helpful staff who also offered secure cycle storage. Breakfast was extra in the main dining hall. Everything was OK for me. ”

“Great location with terrific views. Very handy for River Cottage courses. Friendly hosts and a spacious room and lots of little extras that made me feel very welcome. ”

Richard and his team are friendly attentive and strive to make sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay... as for the Thai food, you really need to try it. It is amongst the best I have ever eaten. We will definitely stay here again! ”

“We would definitely recommend the Groveside. Hosts friendly and helpful. Everything was to a high standard...cleanliness, breakfast. 5 minute walk to the shops and sea-front. Free parking on site. Intimate garden with tables and chairs. Buses go to lots of local places including Exeter and Lyme Regis. Local pubthe Swan , good food and ambiance. If you can get to Topsham, there's a restaurant called The Galley which we would highly recommend. ”
