Hotel a Shawsville

“The hotel is old feeling. Still has a tub with cracks. The back of the office chair covered in dust. Food preparer at breakfast used his bare hands to place cups after cleaning the trash can with no gloves and did not wash hands in between. One of the beds smelled of urine.”

“The Roos were clean . friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet. ”

“We had a very nice stay. Love the pool table, water station, grounds that are dog friendly, bedding, shower. Breakfast had 2 pancake stations. Ok selection. Coffee anytime. Nice 1/2 drive to Floyd. Will stay again. Tru is always dog friendly without an extra charge. ”

“The room was as shown in the photos. Clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The Motel though was decrepit on the outside. No one in reception. they had to make a photocopy of my driver's license to let me in. NO water glass or cup in the room. Expedia totally misled on this booking.”

“I accidentally booked last minute for the wrong day (landed after midnight) and the staff worked with me to make sure it was all ok. Lovely quick stop before getting on the road again. Nice safe stop off 81 without having to go into Roanoke proper.”

“Was travelling on Blue Ridge Parkway and spent the day hiking in the Rock Castle Gorge. Floyd is closest town to the Gorge. Hotel Floyd is amazingly modern and clean hotel in a very small and charming hamlet of VA.”

“This hotel was Disgusting and the staff was so rude. They wouldn’t allow us to have our dog in the “suite” room so her crate had to be in front of the door which was an extreme fire safety hazard for us. We traveled with 5 kids and i felt like we were all going to leave with bedbugs. Beds were so uncomfortable and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Would never stay again and would never recommend to anyone.”

“Unlike many other La Quintas visited, Radford is a bit run-down, needing a makeover. Most of the usual La Quinta expectations were met: clean & comfortable. But the overall condition needs a facelift to stay in line with usual expectations.”
