“The whole experience was perfect. Jen communicated well, giving all the needed instructions about entry and free parking etc. The room and all areas of the property were well appointed, very clean and had obvious attention to detail. This place is off the charts in character. I had coffee in the turret and looked out to see the St Lawrence River. The stairs require some attention by anyone who climbs them. If was a bit more expensive than other options but well worth the extra. ”

“The breakfast wasn't good at all. Very little fruit, and the fruit wasn't fresh. Considering there was a No Frills grocery store near by, I was expecting fresh food. Most of the items were microwaved. Our room was clean, but shower wouldn't turn off,. So we had to switch rooms. One reason I booked the holiday Inn is to take a swim in the pool, but the pool wasn't maintained very well. It had a layer of scum floating on the surface. “Overall this is a very nice hotel, decent breakfast, friendly staff, clean... My one complaint is the height of the toilet. It's so low that the towel rack was hanging off probably from people using it to help them get back up. I was traveling with my senior mother and she had to go down the hall to use the family washroom because it had a rail. Definitely not an accessible hotel. The beds were comfortable though, just get higher toilets please. I'm only 5'4 and I had trouble getting back up. ”
