“Staying in the city of Lake City, with a view of the lake, and walking distance around the lake and city from the motel, gives a feeling of upnorth Michigan costal, convenience, clean, and quaint.”

“It is a nice little place on the lake. I do feel however that the room could use a good update and that the furniture placement could be different to be more user-friendly. The room I rented said futon which was not a futon, it was a pull out bed. The area is a very small hometown. Feel if you're looking for the conveniences of fast food and such, you will need to travel elsewhere. I do wish the room did have a washer and dryer and a stove and sink which would have gave me more bang for my buck....

“Room and property were clean and staff extremely helpful, very welcoming and friendly. Pricing for our room not facing the beach made it a terrific value. Breakfast, one of 4-5 options of various packaged foods, which was OK if unremarkable, was delivered to your room door in the AM, which was nice. Overall: great value on a nice stay!”

“Cute old motel. Upgrades are good, loved the no carpet! Perfect for our overnight stay. Wish I could have taken advantage of the fire pits, they looked marvelous!”

“Clean room, bathroom and common areas. Was not a fan if the $100 security deposit. ”

“Only spent one night there as we were in town for a medical appointment. Check in by owner was very cordial and courteous, grounds and room were very organized and clean. Don't expect a lot of amenities, but all rooms have sunrise views, direct Lake Michigan access with beach chairs and a boat rental right next door. Almost forgot about the rooms shower, you'll love it!”

“There was no breakfast. None. My room was dirty. My room had a connecting door to another room that did not lock. They checked people into that room after 10pm. I was bitten by bedbugs all over my legs. ”

“It was a very nice stay. The Bay view is beautiful. Staff is very friendly and helpful.”

“We loved our stay.. Room size was great & we appreciated having a shower without the tub. Parking was very convenient. Our only issue was lack of housekeeping.. Once from May 10-15.. It wasn’t absolutely necessary as there were plenty of towels, but it would have been nice to get creamers for the coffee without grabbing them from the lobby. Would definitely stay again.”

“Nice location on the beach. Nehemiah at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast options were many and staff was very good at keeping it stocked. Good location for getting around the peninsula. Lots of dining options nearby, at all price points. We had a 3rd floor Petite King room facing the beach. Bed was comfortable but be aware that the room in this category is very small.”

“It was noisy, apparently they allow gatherings in the lobby, so there was a gathering, very noisy, kids screaming dragging the chairs on the floor, adults having loud conversations. It also happened that my room was next to the lobby so the noise was loud. It probably did not affect rooms that were far away from the lobby as much. I did like the cleanliness of the place. It is very close to downtown Traverse City.”
