“What an amazing place to stay!!! The staff were exceptionally friendly. Everything ran smoothly. The room in the hotel was spacious with a kitchen area. We requested a room suitable for my mum who has mobility issues and the room we got was perfect- no steps, near thw restaurant and with a little outside patio area. Perfect location for the town and me and daughter easily walked in via the beach and the road. Great spot for surf. A really laid back place to stay. ”

Kyle at reception was beyond helpful, writing a lengthy list of attractions, ensuring we had a suitable room and switched us to their sister hotel The Royal Britannia. John was also amazing sharing some local favourites and chatting away each time we crossed paths. Our room and ensuite was huge and beautiful, with a large bay window and seating overlooking the harbour. The restaurant downstairs had amazing barkeeps that smiled and chatted...

Only thing I would say is that some basic instructions for the combi oven would be helpful as we were never sure if we had the right setting! 😂 and perhaps some softer pillows as they were on the hard side. I went for breakfast and it was a traditional waiter service breakfast eg you are shown to a table, another waiter takes your order, you choose the items you want and its freshly cooked ( no food sitting under a heated light)”

“Right in the center of town and an easy walk from the train station in Barnstaple. Everything is right there in walking distance and it's all just as funky and charming and welcoming as can be! The hotel's foundation has sunken a bit (or more in some places) which is charming but a little disconcerting if you're thinking you might fall out of bed!”
