“This ryokan was lovely- all the staff were so accommodating and made us feel very special! The ryokan itself is dainty and pleasant. There was public Onsens for women’s and men’s separate (in the women’s there was 1 indoor and 1 outdoor public Onsen with shower room inside). You can also book a private Onsen when you arrive - they have 45 min time slots for 3000 yen! Also very quick walk to Yubatake and the bus station! Would recommend”

“The hotel is a located inside a converted house. Everything looks very traditional, complete with low ceilings, sliding doors, mat covered floors and futons. The dorm slept four, which I though was tight, but it seems to work well enough that I slept quite well both nights. “Nicer Ryokan for the area. Obvious reason to stay is to visit the Shibu Onsen facilities and the Snow Monkey Park and this is a great option for those activities. Pretty close to the Shiga Kogen resort. Check the Map before booking as it is not in Nagano despite the address. Diner and breakfast with Half board was very good and staff were friendly and helpful. Free shuttles were a bonus.”

“Location is good, opposite is the ski resort, which has good snow. Overall room was well maintained, public Onsen was nice too. However we came during early ski season, there is barely any restaurants opens. Hotel cafe food is a bit expensive, and not much choice (mainly western). If plan to stay may order half board instead, or tell hotel staff to reserve dinner before 10am”

What a missed opportunity if you don't. The owner is so nice and lovely. She will greet you and make you feel at home.”

“湯畑の目の前のロケーションは、便利で素晴らしい光景でした。大正ロマンを感じさせる館内は、とても感じがよく、歴史を感じることが出来ました。宿泊客が多い事から、時間制限のある夕食と朝食は、ゆっくりとする事が出来ず、スタッフの方々は、片付けを始めてしまっていた中で、少し急がざる終えない状況になったのは、少し残念でした。しかし、清潔で温泉を心行くまで満喫できたので、よかったです。”
