“The hotel is incredible! We were greeted at the front desk by friendly staff who were very helpful in storing our luggage until our check in time and pointing the way to the bus station so we could explore Hadrian’s Wall that morning. Upon our return we were greeted by more friendly staff and directed to our room. When we opened the door our reaction was “Wow! What a great place!” The rooms were spacious and decorated beautifully. “This is a hard review to right as it appears staff there work and I hesitate try their best to help maintain “the flogging of a dying horse”. On arrival the car park is pot holed and camera driven parking fine so make sure your reg no in system within 10 mins. It’s obvious the building is deteriorated showing age wear and previous leaks in ceilings. Surprisingly room was ok , clean sheets , towels, hot water etc but again no real comfort. Breakfast was buffet but quality , care & presentation...

“The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...

“We stayed for 2 nights and had our dog with us we had a lovely room with doors that opened onto a small patio and garden which was ideal for us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, nicely presented and tasted lovely. I would definitely stay there again.”
