Hotel a The Forks

“I booked a unit which has a loft and they moved me to a smaller one without ever telling me. So, someone had to sleep on the futon which was disgusting and so uncomfortable it’s not suitable for sleeping (needs a new mattress). There were no sheets for it either. The place was relatively clean except for REALLY gross carpet and one thing that is inexcusable. There was rat poop in the silverware drawer and in the pots/pans. The back deck is fantastic but I would still never stay here again!”

“The house was very clean and views of the lake were beautiful. However, there was only a washer and no dryer. The shower head was awful which caused half of the body to freeze while showering. The bed in the master bedroom is beyond awful. The mattress is sinking in the middle and the bed creaks with the slightest of movement. When i tried to blowdry my hair, the smoke alarm went off. I would not stay here again!!!”

“These hotel rooms have not been renovated or re-carpeted since the Bush Administration. There are no mini fridges and only a microwave in the lobby. If it were really cheap it would be kitschy and fun. But it wasn’t much less expensive than the much nicer Sugarloaf Hotel up the bunny hill. The bar was great as was the food - but nowhere to get breakfast before hitting the hill. Very close to the feeder chair, but so are all of the condo’s etc that are available on Air BnB. ”

“Everything about The Hostel of Maine impressed me. The location was perfect, free shuttles to local restaurants and ski resort. Great customer service! Beautiful place! I expected to go just once. I just left and I already want to go back. Definitely a 10 out of 10!”
