“It’s a no frills room so I thought a tad expensive but the shower leaves something to be desired, scalding hot or freezing cold, your choice and don’t try turning, you will bruise something. Staff were nice and the room was clean and we had a decent breakfast. I’m irked by the shower”

“Delightful inn in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. Comfortable rooms. Plentiful parking. Excellent gastropub cuisine. Best of all are the wonderful staff. Smiley and anxious to please. Huge thanks to them all. Will certainly stay again. Highly recommended.”

“Overall a poor experience. Very Expensive! Poor customer service and attitude from bar staff and breakfast waitress. Room needs a significant upgrade and safety check. We had an electric socket hanging off the wall. ”

“I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. ”

“Easy check in at the bar, our room was small but fine for us, the only thing lacking is a mini fridge. The hosts and locals are great, friendly and down to earth people. The food is excellent and they serve well kept beers at a reasonable price. I would definately reccomend this place and we will stay again. 👍🇬🇧 ”

“Pefect stop over for my recent stay in Thirsk. The owner was so attentive and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the parking was secure.”

“Crathorne Hall is a lovely old fashioned hotel in a peaceful setting. We had a room upgrade which did help but the staff are excellent, as is the food. The highlight at breakfast was the uttapam, a traditional Indian breakfast dish.”

“We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. When the room costs £500 per night this is totally outrageous. The hotel was empty so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a 1pm checkout given at most high end hotels 12pm is standard. “We loved this property. The owners obviously have an eye for decor as it is a really stylish place and beautifully finished. We loved how peaceful the property was and the owners had thought of everything . We really appreciated the tea, coffee and milk after a 5 hour drive and the muffins, biscuits and crisps were a lovely touch. All the information you needed was in a folder and we visited lots of the places recommenced in it. It’s a fantastic property and we hope to stay there again.”
