“Lovely decor in the hotel. Our suite was gorgeous. We ate in the restaurant and it was lovely, great menu. The pub is very cosy, very relaxed feel to it.”

“Quirky with some lovely staff in the evening in the restaurant. The gardens are also beautiful but small things could really enhance the hotel to get more from its potential. My stay improved after a few small disappointments. The room was warm and quiet. The meal on the second night was excellent (first night's green curry with poppadoms was less so and lacking in flavour).”

“Room cleanliness was okay — you get what you pay for. My main issue was the amount of noise inside the hotel itself. For the last couple of nights of my stay, there was heavy music and loud conversations continuing into the early hours of the morning, which was completely unacceptable for a hotel environment. Sleep was almost impossible. I also got the impression that the hotel may be being used as sheltered emergency accommodation through the local council, which may explain the constant...

“Spotlessly clean, wonderful hosts, excellent (and huge!) breakfast. Lovely towpath walk along the canal into the town centre. Only marked down because when we booked, the room was described as en suite when in fact the shower room was separate, shared and up a steep flight of stairs. ”

“I booked a single room with twin bed but upgraded to a double bed and got a better room. The room itself was quite dark, except for first thing in the morning when the sun lit up the room and the bathroom, which was nice. The bedroom had only one central light (quite dark) and one bedside light, with no lighting over by the desk where the kettle/tea/coffee were, which was a little awkward. The bathroom was very nice, light, airy and spacious. The room itself was up and down a lot of stairs,...

“Camera silenziosissima pur essendo in zona tangenziale , letto comodo. Pulizia discutibile , una sera si sono dimenticati di rifare il letto e di passare il pavimento (capelli ovunque). Colazione nella media, abbastanza varia, ma i tavoli venivano ripuliti di rado e dopo l’ora di punta non si trovava un posto pulito dove sedersi.”

“I would say it’s a steady 3 star. It’s not really geared to be a hotel, room facilities very basic although clean. Tv signal was poor even on BBC1. Breakfast was a free continental which didn’t even have fresh pastries. It’s ok but for the money I paid I expected better. There was a wedding on Saturday night which was a bit chaotic but thankfully it’s away from the rooms so wasn’t too loud. Probably wouldn’t return unfortunately.”
