“I stayed in B2, which is a basement room. It had a VERY strong mildew odor, chipped furniture with crooked drawers, and patchwork paint on the ceilings. This room does NOT warrant the 3.5 rating that this property has, however, other rooms may be better. The shower was clean, however, so they earned one Star for that.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Wayside Inn. Our host, Joe, was very helpful and was a great chef! Our breakfasts were very good and got us ready for the day ahead. Parking was not a problem and the surrounding yard was shady and pleasant. The giant oak in the front is reported to be 200 or more years old. Our room and bath were well maintained. “The 1st room had some kind of flying insects on the air conditioned and in the window area, I called the front desk receptionist and she immediately moved me to a different room without any hesitation. “Beautiful location. It’s in the heart of Columbia but tucked away perfectly for a nice retreat. Right by a nice trail. The view of the lake is breathtaking. Pool closes kind of early so make sure you pay attention to the time. Restaurant was worth every penny. Beds were nice. Loved the personalized touch with the tv having my name on it.”

“The girl at the front desk was friendly and helpful from the beginning to end. The room was very clean and spacious with everything you need for a short to long term stay. We loved the court yard, the afternoon snack time and the morning breakfast buffet. Will definitely stay there again on our next visit up that way.”
