“Bring some bug spray and your own bedding! Pictures on Expedia are either AI generated or were take. In 1992 when this place was built. It had a certain odor to it when walking in and when I got to my room that was labelled non-smoking it smelled as if someone had just been in there while smoking. I asked to get moved which reception did but the second room was on the second floor and there is no elevator. Was not an issue for me particularly but could be for others. “I was pleasantly surprised to find our room very clean and spacious! The bathroom was immaculate and had dispensers in the shower with shampoo and conditioner along with body wash. The towels were a good size and sparkling white. The bed linens were clean and soft. And my husband loved the hot tub in the room! The staff were friendly and helpful with ideas for restaurants. If we come this way again we will certainly stay at the Super 8!”

“This hotel is still under construction while the room we were given was clean and pretty nice. The bed was hard. The television did not work. We went to the office, but it was never fixed when we got there. We were charged $100 deposit and and it was not refunded that they said we smoked me and my boyfriend don’t even smoke. They kept our deposit refused to give it back so don’t stay at this hotel in Merrillville. There are many other nicer friendlier hotels in the area.”

“I cannot really rate this room on loneliness or anything else when we got to this hotel there were storm warnings and sirens going off the hotel had no electricity which was not their fault. The entire town did not have any electricity by the time we get to our rooms which were on the second floor after electricity came back on. “This was one of the literal WORST hotel stays ever. I went to view the room and take snacks for my daughters before they arrived in town and the headboard was falling on one of the beds, te bathroom was not clean, the fridge was smelly and not clean, and the furniture was raggedy. I went and asked to be put in another room because I didn’t want my daughters in that room, HOWEVER, the next room was no better but the headboard wasn’t falling. “When we entered our room, the air was damp and we realized the carpet was wet. When I called the front desk, they said it had been shampooed that day. Unfortunately, they did not turn on any fans or the a/c system to run the fan, so the moisture had accumulated in the air in the room until it felt damp like a high humidity day. The bedding felt damp as did our clothes the following morning. They said they could not move us because they were full, and they did not register our complaint.”
