Description

Discover one of the masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance, The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, in Milan.

Meet your guide at the meeting point just in front of the exhibition at Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie. After an introduction to the Italian Renaissance, you will skip the lines and be taken to see The Last Supper, one of the world’s most famous murals. The painting represents the reactions of the apostles at that moment during the Last Supper when Jesus foretold that he would be betrayed by one of them. The guide will tell you all about the technical and artistic secrets of the masterpiece including the innovative techniques used by da Vinci, his use of perspective and various hidden symbols.

Discover how Leonardo invented his own painting technique that allowed him to work slowly, and to perfect every detail. Da Vinci unfortunately used a new technique that resulted in the mural being extremely fragile and as a result its deterioration quickly ensued. Because of the poor condition and delicate nature of the mural, visiting conditions are quite restrictive. Access to the air-conditioned exhibition room containing the mural is limited to small groups and then only for a maximum of 15 minutes. The number of tickets is also very limited and they are not easy to buy. Our tours include skip-the-line tickets and detailed commentaries made by accredited English-speaking guides.

Excellent tour. The tour guide (didn’t catch her name, but 8:30 am 8/28/19 English tour) was fabulous; knowledgeable, interesting and engaging. The artwork was breathtaking and the additional information fascinating. Highly recommended.

A must do! Tour guide was clear to understand and very knowledgeable. This is the first tour which I didn’t have to hunt down the guide, the guide was actually looking for me for check in. Our group had only 5 people which was great and the private timers view the last supper was great! None of that see it from way back of the line. You get to go up close. About 30 people allowed at a time into the room to see the masterpiece which makes it all worth it!

We had a great tour guide, think her name was Linda; she was very thorough in her art history knowledge and her history in general. Great tour wish it was a bit longer!
