Description

Take a relaxing cruise along the western coast of Mauritius and watch friendly dolphins swim alongside you. Glide along the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean, enjoy a refreshing swim, soak up the sun and eat a fresh barbecue lunch.

Board your luxury catamaran and set sail, heading out into deeper waters. Feel the gentle tropical breeze against your skin and bask in the sun as your crew takes care of the sailing. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for dolphins elegantly leaping out of the water. Listen to your knowledgeable guide and learn about the natural habitat of the spinner dolphin – known for its habit of leaping from the water and spinning lengthwise.

Further north, your catamaran drops anchor near the coral reefs by Albion. Take a revitalising dip in the clear turquoise waters, snorkel among the sea life and be amazed by the vibrant colours of this exotic natural aquarium.

A delicious barbecue lunch is served up with fresh salad and a cool drink. Afterwards, sit back, relax and soak up some rays as you head back to land.

There was no information given on the animals at all and the boat actually chased them. Way too close. Food and drink were mediocre, although that would not have mattered to me. Loud music. I was able to go to the bow to escape a bit because my request to turn it down was ignored. This was not a nature experience but a party boat with dolphins. Snorkeling area was impoverished with little coral or fish and the visibility was bad but I understand it is this way in the winter. Please respect the animals.

Cruise good though mostly swimming and snorkelling not much time allocated to dolphins. Best to be fan of pop and reggae music as belted out at top volume relentlessly. Whole trip spoiled by worst ever experience of hotel transfers by Connections DMC. Told to be ready at ridiculously early time 7.35 am (so missed hotel breakfast) but minibus half hour late and then still arrived at boat pier with 20 mins wait before boarding. Return transfer total nightmare not back at hotel til 2.5 hours after boat docked. Driver insisted on going through Port Louis despite newish eastern hills bypass would have been much quicker. Should only have taken one hour max.
