Description

Explore the sights of Girona's coast, christened the Costa Brava thanks to its rugged, rocky shoreline along the northeastern edge of Spain. This tour shows you small coves surrounded by pine forests and crystal-clear waters, along with historic communities that offer a window into Catalonian life.

Once you set out from Barcelona, your tour bus carries you north to the seaside town of Calella de Palafrugell, a small fisherman's village that still retains its traditional look. Take some free time to explore and enjoy the scenery before a walk along the Camino de Ronda to the town of Llafranc.

Around noon, the tour takes you inland to the hilltop community of Pals, built entirely in an integrated mediaeval site. A walk through its cobbled streets gives you a sense of going back in time before you move on to l'Estartit, a seaside village famous as an important diving centre and the nearby Medes Islands.

Take some free time to explore the town before you board a boat for a voyage to the outer islands. You can enjoy an exceptional view of a sea floor full of life thanks to large windows below the waterline, and admire the spectacular views of the coast from the open deck.

After a visit to the unspoiled cliffs of Sierra de Montgrí, it's time for a tour of the ancient Greek and Roman ruins of Empuries. Admire the remains of the Greek city walls, the acropolis, the market square, and a port that dates back to the 1st century BC, as well as the Roman forum, the amphitheatre, several statues, and a mosaic floor that remains in excellent condition.

The tour concludes with a bus ride back to Barcelona, where you disembark at the Plaza Catalunya in the evening.

This is one of the best things to do in Barcelona. Everything was nicely organized and well regulated. They took us to locations that are must see tourist places that most people do not think of going and the speaker gives good information about the things we are touring.

This 1-day Tour is pretty long, a bit tiring due to quite a bit of walking, but lots of places, in fact 5 beautiful spots plus a sea cruise, to see and take, all in one day, 12 hours long. I love the medieval town, Pals, a lot and the Greek and Roman ruins of Empuries too. If you’ve seen enough of Barcelona, this 1-day tour outside of downtown is highly recommended.
