Description

Travel back in time and visualise the days of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. With period costumes and wigs, this performance – at some of the most magnificent halls in Vienna – transports you to the memorable Baroque era. Considered one of Vienna’s most popular programmes, this experience is not to be missed.

Immerse yourself in a classical and dramatic bygone time. As you step into one of Vienna's most prominent concert halls, a different world is revealed. Let the music drench your senses; listen to talented musicians and singers of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra re-creating “The Magic Flute” or “The Marriage of Figaro.”

The performance pieces range from single movements to symphonies, operatic overtures, and duets, giving you a glimpse of what a classic concert in Mozart's time was really like. After experiencing this performance, you can understand why Patricia Schulz lists it in her book “1,000 Places to See Before You Die.”

4.3 out of 5

The concert is a two to two&1/2 hr performance with a 15 min break. Musicians are qualified and play professionally. The conductor of the orchestra is very engaging. The program itself consists of the selected famous pieces of Mozart Shtrauss and possibly Shubert (you can look up the program yourself if interested). The major kick is that the orchestra , musicians are dressed up in wigs and barocco- style costumes, which itself suggests the marketing trick to attract more people and possibly distinguish themselves from others. The performance is not intended for the serious music enthusiast. It is more of a pop art venue. That being said, I enjoyed the sound and the performance. Vocalists are good too. Quick note.... You are not allowed to film the performance or make a picture of it. Some tourists were rude enough to disrespect that rule and bother other listeners.
