“We were greeted by a large private security guard who stared us down and blocked our entrance to the front desk to check in! Not the experience we were expecting. It felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. I felt like if I would have said anything the guard would have stopped me and made me leave. Apparently, this is the new protocol for Hilton hotels in Iowa City.. You have to get by a large serious guard just to check in. The front desk clerk didn't make it any better. “I loved everything about the property. Everything was well-maintained, clean both in the lobby and the rooms, the beds were very comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the staff was very friendly. Next time I return, I will stay at the same Element Iowa hotel. 100% recommended.”

“I thought I had booked a room with 2 queen beds but when we checked in only the handicap room was available with two double beds. It wasn't a problem but I felt bad taking up them handicap room in case someone who really needed it showed up and needed a room. The check in lady said it was the only room available. It was really nice that the hotel is connected to the restaurant so you don't have to go outside. The computer was not working when we checked in and there was 4 people there waiting...
