“We had the private villa with the balcony . The place it self is nice with an ocean view. The bar is only open until 9 which is a downer but the drinks are reasonable priced. It is a 5 minute walk from the airport so no need for a taxi to get to and from which I liked. Right by the beach which was nice. You can tell the property is older but it is nice and quiet. They have cats and roosters on the property. Seem like the island is known for that, they don’t bother anyone tho. ”

Having laundry on-site was a huge plus for refreshing our gear after beach days, and being so close to local shops made grabbing daily essentials a breeze. It’s a rare find that feels both high-end and totally relaxed—we’re already planning our return!”

“The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! ”

The only caution is the number of steps to get to your room, unless you have one of those along the shore. I didn't realize that when I booked the hotel - I chose this for the most reasonable price for a room with a view! “Our stay at Emerald Beach Resort was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The room itself was mediocre at best, but the beds and pillows were absolutely awful—easily some of the most uncomfortable we’ve ever experienced.
