Hotel a Dutch Brook

“We stayed in room 30. First thing we saw was a bag of garbage ripped open in front of our door. Paint chipping off the door and falling on the floor and a gap at the bottom so insects were coming in. Bed squeaked so loud was hard to sleep, outlet in bathroom did not work. Toilet barely flushed, dead bugs on window sill and floor, the deck railing was loose and they had half a roll of toilet paper in our room. Only good thing was the A/C. Was not worth it to save a little money, trust me!”

“Cheryl was an incredible host. We arrived around 530pm and she was there to greet us. The room was immaculate, large, and very clean. Bathrooms had towels, soaps. She showed us where she had teas, a small fridge and water. The main character was her breakfast. Quiche, pancakes, syrup, jam, croissants. All home made by Cheryl. Amazing, delicious. If I could rate her place higher than 10 I would!”

“The bed was comfortable, TV didn’t work, chair was unclean. Mentioned at checkout about TV and was told it works fine we just didn’t know how to use it. We didn’t really need it. It was fine for a one night stop.”

“North Star was so beautiful . We had an ocean view room which was amazing ( thank you Mrs MacDonald for the upgrade) . All the staff were awesome especially Colin and Justin who own this wonderful resort. All the staff never stopped seeing that everyone was well looked after. Hope one day to go back for longer, already miss the place.”

“We had a nice stay in one of the hotel rooms. Staff were very nice. We didn’t actually golf, we just wanted to stay outside Sydney on our trip. The room was clean, we had a little issue opening the room door but the staff helped us out. The bathroom door didn’t lock or latch properly but we were able to manage that.”

“Beds were comfortable, blackout curtains were excellent. Property needs some updating, bathroom paint was peeling, room had an odor upon arrival. Things need to be addressed to maintain quality.”

“The owner\hostess was rude and obsequious. She has a footwear issue…..and offered used slippers as an alternative. The physical plant was fine. This is not a hotel….it is her and her yapping dogs home. I don’t pay $300 for a lecture.”

“Needs an update. Room was run down - holes in wall and carpet. Bed seemed to be broken. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was ok and nice not to have to leave hotel to find breakfast.”

“We liked the size of the suite and the location. It’s located in the Sydney downtown area and right beside the boardwalk.”
