After arriving, I have to admit my heart sank a little upon the roadside exterior of the property which looked very tired……BUT……as the expression goes, NEVER judge a book by it’s cover 😀
My single bedroom with en-suite, was spacious and well refurbished.
Breakfasts were a delightful choice of “everything “ if you could ever eat that much….!!

“This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception.
There was a nice touch with tea making facilities and scones provided for the 4 days that I was there.

“We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding nearby. I usually expect pub rooms to be a bit hodge podge, but the sawmills were very hotel-esque. Done to a very nice finish. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing, full gastro pub with well thought flavours and good quality ingredients ”

Kyle at reception was beyond helpful, writing a lengthy list of attractions, ensuring we had a suitable room and switched us to their sister hotel The Royal Britannia. John was also amazing sharing some local favourites and chatting away each time we crossed paths. Our room and ensuite was huge and beautiful, with a large bay window and seating overlooking the harbour. The restaurant downstairs had amazing barkeeps that smiled and chatted...

“Really lovely stay. The property is well kept and has everything you could need. Views are not quite the same as in the photos (on their website it does state the view is from a nearby walk) but that doesn’t pull across to Expedia. Still a lovely terrace facing out onto the sea ”

“I loved the atmosphere of the guest house. It is homely and comfortable whilst being very clean as well.
Located in the centre of town it is conveniently situated for absolutely everything and the owners, Maria and Clive, are friendly, welcoming (as are their pets!) and they clearly love the building and the business.
Breakfast was plentiful and well made which set us up for the day!
