“The main positive about the cottage is the location - it is just a few minutes walk to the waterfront and barbican area where you will find everything you need for a wonderful visit to Plymouth. The cottage however is not a very restful place to stay. There are 2 quite challenging staircases to negotiate which include places where you have to duck to avoid banging your head. “Great location and well set up with everything you would need. Lovely comfy bed and couldn’t be more convenient for getting into the town. Couldn’t help but notice a couple of things though. The microwave didn’t cook which was frustrating and we noticed the cleaner turned up with a new one as we left so it was clearly something the owner was aware of. “I received a free upgrade to one of the Lodges so don't actually know about Davy Cottage. However, the lodge called Owls Nest was lovely. Spacious, well equipped, clean and really comfortable. The view was great. Parking was directly outside. The road is rather pot-holed (not unlike the rest of the country!) and I didn't like the black towels which left lint all over me, but that is really me being finicky! “We stayed for 11 days and loved the house. Wide angle camera lenses often create the illusion of bigger spaces, but this flat really was very spacious. The bedroom was big with a nice bed and plenty of storage (a bigger bed would be ideal). Separate toilet and shower rooms were nice. The kitchen was big and well fitted. “The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The weather was cold, windy and wet when we were there and it took a while to get the cottage warm and cosy. Close to Lanhydrock and Bodmin Moor, Tintagel and Padstow not far away, so a nice place to have as a base for mid Cornwall”
