“Dogs welcome and treated so well with their own bed, blanket and bowl with free treats and no restrictions on where we could eat or drink. Lovely staff. And delicious food. Our room had everything you could need with a sweet balcony to sit outside. Highly recommend staying here - Max was outstanding. Thank you.”

“I would strongly advise that they install air conditioning into the rooms. The rooms are beautiful but very unpleasant in hot conditions, which would discourage me from booking in the summer.”

“The whole experience at the Retreat is superb. The friendly staff the, the deco and surroundings are lovely and it has a great relaxed feeling. It is luxurious without feeling stuffy. I went with my daughter and we had a great time relaxing around the outside pool.”

“I booked the executive room, no air conditioning just a small desktop fan, only one bath towel and hand towel to share between two people, stains on carpets throughout the hotel, no water in the room, tiniest complimentary shower gel and shampoo. In general whole place needs updating, breakfast is very average, coffee and orange juice was just about drinkable, I wouldn’t stay again”

“We were given a top floor room for which I realised I struggled to walk up in addition to the hotel is like a maze and confusing to find and get back to. It was one of a very hot day and the window is quite limited to open to let the cool air comes in. A fan is available. The shower as well is a bit of a tricky manoeuvre to operate. Breakfast is basic including the juice. Coffee is fine.”

“We thought the room was not worth the price. It was a bit shabby and lacked the extras with a room that price. Early evening we saw two rats outside on our patio. There was a lack of staff at certain times and this was communicated to us when asking for breakfast. The bar and gardens were lovely, they were very helpful with our food choices but the Sticky toffee pudding was not to a good standard.”
