A lovely setting, the pub was great with a huge beer garden and play area and the hotel was lovely and clean and VERY quiet - we didnt hear other people inside or out on any of the 3 nights we stayed. Beer garden was right outside our window and very busy with families and kids playing football but could not hear a peep in the room. “All staff I encountered where exceptionally friendly and helpful with good knowledge of local area. Lovely choices of full hot and cold buffet breakfast. Fantastic evening meals in the restaurant, though limited choice if staying more than two nights. Amazing location just a few hundred yards from the Cathedral and Castle at a reasonable price. Very clean comfortable room overlooking the Cathedral with everything you need. Best sleep ever! Definitely returning.”

“We have stayed here twice now - and was more then pleased with everything on the first visit, on the second we had a room facing the car park and not the marina as last time, so that was a little bit disappointing. Also a gas pipe on the wall outside kept making noise thruout the night.

“It's a very nice hotel, clean and well presented, we stayed in a room for a disabled person which was wide enough for her wheelchair and wide doors so overall very pleased. There was one thing in the room that could be improved is to put in a larger sink ”

“Room was very nice with a bath. Breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal we had. Toilet paper could do with an upgrade and the dining area was invaded by small flies and wasps. (Issues with the side door into the beer garden left open. ”

“Nice superking bed. Small balcony with two chairs and a table looking onto a golf course. You do need your own transport. There is a railway station a few hundred yards walk away but the trains only stop there twice a day. Really nice helpful staff.”

“OK. So I had no idea that this hotel was a winner of Channel 4’s “Four in a Bed”. Until I got there but I can understand why it did. The decor is quirky without being irritating and the room was really comfortable. I should probably say that I was travelling for business and this hotel wasn’t ideal for that (there was no desk) but I would definitely return with my wife. I would have liked a head’s up that the restaurant wasn’t going to be open the evening that I stayed and sadly I had to leave...
