"This property has some very good assets. It also has some issues that need to be resolved. The location on the north end of Lake Como and the short distance to transportation to the rest of the lake is awesome. But we tried to get some information from the owner/manager on our first night and it turned into a fiasco. The manager got angry with me for asking simple questions. The rest of our stay seemed like a disaster because of it. I'm sorry it ended up like that, there was no need for it to go...

"It would have been nice to get a heads up on driving access to the site. They sent us a message that there is no check in after 11pm but no information about road access to the hotel. We had to drive around town to find a way to the entry to the hotel. Also, the reception wasn’t very friendly. Check in and check out. "

"Room was great. Everything new and clean. We’ve been in hotels where we have arrived in to a complimentary bottle of wine and 2 nice wine glasses, (and several different coffee pods) that leave us with a much better feeling and desire to return."

"Even though the property is located on the hills above Varenna, it was was worth staying at this Hotel and we never felt far away from the action. Kristy and Rita took good care of us helping us order taxis and get to and from the hotel whenever we needed. The staff are amazing and make this place worth the stay. Hotel has a good breakfast and everything you need to make your stay comfortable. "

"Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were spotless and tidied so quickly that it was done before we returned from breakfast. Included breakfast was an European extravaganza. Lots of choices and continually restocked even if you arrive 5 min before the end of the breakfast hour. "

"The property was fantastic. The staff were fantastic. Working really hard and provided a great stay at basically the only place open on the mountain. But it didn't feel like anything was lacking. Breakfast was great, dinner was absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back again to try some of the hiking paths in the area."

"We were thrilled with this booking. It was only for a single night on our way through but the staff and property were exceptional. We could easily have stayed longer and used the location to ‘disconnect’ from life outside. Not far from Lake Como it’s close to the activity that the area around the lake presents but not too close to overwhelm. Spectacular scenery and a first rate operation - we considered ourselves fortunate to find it."

"Lovely quaint hotel. Parking area is quite small so recommend a small hire car. I was lucky to get a room with a balcony. Staying on business so no time for sightseeing. Food in restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was good with the offer of cooked food to order."
