The property has a policy of no check-in’s after 10:30PM and no refunds. And they don’t make exceptions. I can’t help but wonder if they aren’t trying to deliberately take money from desperate travelers who fail to read the fine print on their policies. I make my booking (only place in Claremont that had a room available and they only had one) while I was about 2.5 hours away. ETA was anticipated to be about 9:45-10:00PM. But then I ran into a 45 minute delay…
In speaking with the person on the phone, they were not sympathetic or understanding in any way. They just kept saying that they close at 10:30PM and that their policy was posted on the web site. So they got my $120 and I got nothing.
Just as a side note, I have been traveling for work since 1990 and spend between 100-250 nights a year at hotels. This is my second review in all that time.
