It was perfect for the price and also wanting to be close to the city centre. I would definitely recommend it

The room is exactly what you pay for clean sheets, comfy bed, fridge air con etc. Unfortunately the shower was a tight squeeze and there was some mould in the corners. The temperature and pressure of the shower were fine though. The receptionist was informative although ignored us for what appeared to be already checked in male customers when we were trying to check in.The website here claims there is tea/coffee available but when asked we were directed to a coffee shop elsewhere. There is also a claim that room service available but again no mention of this when we checked in. The room was not as soundproofed as indicated and there was a lot of loud music particularly for a tuesday evening. It was unclear of this was from other guests or an outside source however. Would not recommend for a long stay particularly due to the presence of what appeared to be drug taking individuals
Horrific stay. Cleaners stole cash and jewellery and other items from my room. When we complained the hotel denied responsibility. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Friendly staff for a low quality hotel
The hotel is not in the best location. The streets around it are not clean and there are drug addicts in the area (and many other areas in Athens).
With that being said, the staff was very friendly and helpful with anything I needed.
Hotel full of noisy Arabs, so could not get to sleep. They had parties on the balcony every night with ghetto blasters blaring Arab music. Corridors were full of Arabs shouting all the time and the elevator was very noisy. Good hotel if you are deaf. Hotel staff were as much use as a wet paper bag. Balcony was dirty. TV did not work. toilet was dangerous as shower had no door so floor was soaking and the w.c. worked sometimes. Air con was very noisy. A bad hotel, only for Arabs

Noisy, bad area.
While the room was relatively clean and the staff were nice enough, this hotel is located in a very rough part of the city. Every taxi driver we had in Athens told us not to walk around there at night as it was “a very dangerous area”. Subsequently you had to pay €20 from the centre of town each night to get back to the hotel ( even though it is only 1.5km ). The hotel is also very noisy with staff and other guests yelling at all hrs of the day / night. There were also always a large group of people hanging about at the front of the hotel that constantly were going in and out of it. It just had a very uncomfortable vibe to it all. Athens was lovely but do not stay in this area, spend the extra money and stay up town.
This hotel was clean with very friendly helpful staff. The receptionist is a lovely lady who answered all questions professionally and in a friendly manner. The outlook of our room left a bit to be desired - overlooking the backs of buildings and a car park Howe er we were only there to sleep not to spend time in the room.
This hotel is located in very bad neighborhood, they can kill you for $5 on the street , the room is very small , bathroom full of mold this "hotel " is not ever worthed $10 per night.....never again ps. I choose this hotel because the picture on the website was very nice ,,,,, never again!!!!

Central location. Good price.
Good money for value. The staff are very nice. The location is central and close to the metro station.
Room size was a little small, but comfortable. I think the room had just been painted and fixed up, so I could smell a minor paint smell. No tv and I had to request a remote control for the aircon. The aircon worked well. Buffet breakfast was limited. More food options would be better.
The Hotel is very central and a 2 min. walk to Metro and good bus service.
The Hotel amenities are not good, but the staff are great and the rooms are kept very clean with a good A/C system.
Upon arrival we were given a dirty, small, substandard room the window of which opened to an areaway filled with garbage. The next morning we could change it for a better one, but the bathroom was equally and uncomfortably small.
The breakfast is clearly not worth the price: we only had it once then went to a nearby café. We tried to get a refund for the breakfasts we did not take but could not.
This hotel featured pictures that were clearly NOT the hotel. We could barely squeeze in the room and the shower was broken. There was also a horrible smell and we had to keep the windows open in the rain just to barely be able to function. It was also in a VERY rough area and we stayed inside until our taxi arrived and didn't feel safe walking down the street even in the daytime. We have this room booked for our last night in Greece as well and the site says that we cannot cancel the reservation but we cannot stay here another night so we are booking another room!!!!
When the taxi driver dropped me he was really surprise I had booked here. He said "very bad area, you be very careful"... that says it all. I do not recommend this hotel to any foreigners in Greece.

The hotel staff was very nice. Location is close to the Metro and there is a good selection of small restaurants close by. Great values for the money. Also has a great balcony.

the only bad thing is the location whitch is in a bad neighborhood, but still close to enething you want to see!

It suited my purpose
I loved the location because it was easy to jump on the metro and go anywhere. It looked nice but it seemed as if the floors weren't cleaned on a regular basis. Also there seemed to be something going on with the ceiling in the bathroom (mold?) Other than that I was very comfortable.
The great thing is that the staff was friendly and spoke English. A few went out of there way to make sure that I was taken care of. The WIFI was great which I wish I could say for some four star hotels I've stayed in. They also offered for me to stay at their partner hotel if I didn't feel comfortable in the neighborhood since I was a lady travelling alone. The neighborhood wasn't that bad. I suppose most people would think it was bad because it isn't as pristine as the rest of the city and there are many immigrants in the area. A lady at the hotel had a her purse stolen. I made sure I had my purse/backpack securely in my grip and was aware of my surroundings at all times as I would in any city. She had her purse stolen the first day. I stayed there almost 3 weeks without any problems.
If I needed an inexpensive place in Athens I would stay there again.
If I ever go back to Athens and Im short on budget I would stay here again. Good hotel for the price. Clean, ok size room (good for Europe standards). Service was OK, (I didn't expect much and I didn't ask much). They barely speak english at the front desk. Kind of close to the touristic areas (15 min walk to Acropolis). The only bad thing is the neighborhood. Drug addicts walking, sleeping, screaming around the area (you cant hear them from the rooms) Just call a taxi and you wont even notice.
If you are a delicate person and like luxury and don't want to see certain things while you travel, avoid this hotel.
If you are on a low budget and can look the other way while passing by the drug addicts, this is a good place.
Have a nice trip and Paracaló

Reasonable rates
The hotel is nice enough for the price, the breakfast was decent and the location to the Metro was good. The toilet tank overflowed and their solution was to turn the water supply off after flushing. The staff was pleasant and helpful and there is a lift. Outside the door it was uncomfortable with drug addicts using needles and refugees from other countries lingering about. A suggestion to call the police about the drug users shooting up was answered 'the police don't do anything.' Perhaps it is accepted in this city. We did not experience any problem with them.
This hotel was nice inside and close to the city center but the surrounding neighborhood was extremely bad, we were a group of 4 (3 guys, 1 girl) and we felt very unsafe walking back to the hotel after dark.
the hotel is in a drug dealers' area. loads of junkies!! no matter during days or nights. it's very scary even for a man like myself. I saw one of them making injections in the middle of a very busy square nearby. going to hotel after dark is like entering a war zone. even the hotel reception locked the hotel front door to avoid dangers. nothing happened to us but if you like scary movies, nothing can beat this.
about hotel maintenance, my room's main light bulb was not working when arrived. toilet flush was broken which caused flushing water overflown in toilet/bathroom. in the second night, the flush is still not working perfectly. I had to manually open the flush tank to stop water running and overflowing.
We arrived late, after midnight, and found the proprietor waiting for us at the front desk. We had to summon him again to our room because we didn't know that the key card must be placed in the slot for the lights to work. Small room but a beautiful balcony and everything clean and tidy. Not the best neighborhood, but a good value.3
I had read a few reviews really slating the Stalis for its location and the "gangs" of young men and seedy characters hanging around. Well there is a shop owned by an African down the street but there is also a Bar filled with elderly Greek men opposite it and everyone seems to get on very well!. OK the area is a bit run down, but so is most of Athens these days. There are always Police visible on the city streets and it never felt even remotely unsafe. It is about 20 metres from a main road
Basically the Stalis is clean, comfortable with very friendly staff, air con in the rooms, free wireless, free (simple) continental breakfast and VERY cheap! The room was quite small, but more than adequate and the bathroom was spotless and typically Greek (wet room style with no shower curtain). The view from the room was basically a wall but I was there on business so this was not an issue and I was on the first floor. Views may be better from rooms on higher floors. Also there was a balcony to sit out on.
It is 5 mins walk from Omonia Sq and about 30 mins walk from the Acropolis.
If I am in Athens again this is where I will stay - I have stayed in Hotels 5 times the price which were half as good - what more do you want?
Hotel Stalis is not a place I would stay. The street is on has drug activity all day long. I was mugged going from the hotel to the metro, which isn't but a few blocks. I wouldn't EVER stay here again. The hotel was clean, but small, there was a huge hole in our bathroom wall. The breakfast provided really is just toast. Not worth eating. The morning front desk lady was rude and not helpful. The man in the evening was much nicer and more helpful. Overall a bad experience.
Nice and clean room in good condition. Everything working well and staff was helpful and friendly. Two free internet pc's in the reception was great as well.
The location close to two metro stations would be great if the area was not full of alcoholics and drug addicts. Had to watch my steps not to step on the syringes thrown around the streets unfortunately.
