“Pet friendly is an understatement. The staff were so accommodating and went way above to make us and our dog Blue so welcome from his welcome pack to the fuss made over him it made our visit truly special. Massive thanks to Lucie, Taylor and Ray for looking after us and the old dog. Breakfast was brilliant and the I would highly recommend the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties. Probably the spiciest and best I've tasted.”

“Expedia does not tell you they don’t answer phone calls from foreign numbers & they have no front desk/ staff on site so only way to communicate is thru Expedia. I couldn’t get continental breakfast because Expedia blocks emails & they couldn’t send me payment link. No food or beverage available on site or within walking distance. Food delivery was lame, cash only & no utensils. Decent shower, bed & wifi”

“Staff a bit tricky re booking tables to eat. Reception didn’t say a thing but I felt like we got into trouble trying to get dinner. Just a heads up to anyone - book a table. Food and venue was beautiful all the same.”

“We had a lovely stay at the Kames hotel. It was really busy and buzzing but the staff still took the time to make is feel really welcome. The meal in the evening was delicious and our little dog enjoyed the treats. Would certainly visit again 😁”

“This is a very good hotel , and the best value for money on the island. It is quite clearly an old hotel but very well looked after. The one down point for me would be the attention to detail with the cleaning of the rooms. The shower tray had hairs in it, the teaspoons and mugs were not clean. The carpet had quite a few "suspect" stains. Would definitely stay here again, but covered everything we needed to do on the island so probably wont be back for that reason. The breakfast was great.”

“Have been before to this boutique hotel and the standard has never failed. Guy on reception was friendly and pleasant. Advised that food wasn’t available atm in the hotel but that he would telephone two down at the Seamill Hydro Hotel for dinner and gave us a voucher for breakfast at same hotel. Dinner booking was abit late for us so declined and went elsewhere. The breakfast was lovely at the Hydro. Hotel was nice and warm, room and bathroom spotless. Would return and recommend to others”

“The room was very poorly lit, no lights apart from small wall lights which being sight impaired I struggled with. Tap was loose and wobbly in bathroom sink.”

“Hotel itself is nice and very well located with wonderful view on the Harbour of Tarbert. Room size ok and bed comfortable. What they lacked was not informing that one slide-door of the shower box was broken. Unfortunately I only found out about the problem when I already was in the shower box and managed somehow to close it. When I noticed the problem to the staff, I was told the they were aware of the problem but 1. I was given the room anyway and 2. nobody has thought to tell me about the...

“Used this hotel as a overnight stop en route to Arran and was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room the meals available in the pub and an excellent breakfast.”

“Spa was nice, room was exceptional in terms of the view, decor and comfort. receptionist very welcoming. Bar area no atmosphere at all. Only used for drinks can’t comment on the food. Staff nice enough. Breakfast was lovely and exactly as ordered. Unfortunately during our stay there was multiple fire alarms going off through night. This in itself was annoying as it disturbed our sleep and we only had one evening booked. Lack of sleep for our big day the following day was not what we had planned...
