“Very brief stay as was asleep within half hr of arriving at 21:30 and away by 4am But couldn’t fault the place at all and very helpful reception who had to endure the customers from hell in front of me. Totally unjustified behaviour and she handled it like a champ 10/10”

“Recently refurbished, rooms were clean and fresh and kept the original features of the property. Bathroom was lovely and bath a great size although did miss the option of grabbing a quick shower. Bathroom needs a blind or curtain please otherwise stunning room.”

“Room was modern and spotless with all facilities required for stay and there is currently work being carried out to entrance to hotel which will look really nice and almost completed.Bar area was fine but glasses weren't very clean and ice machine had broken down but prices were ok for a hotel.Only let down was breakfast which we were looking forward too.Breakfast is made to order with you picking what you want at reception.Our breakfast arrived swimming on top of beans and wasn't very warm so...

“A great one night stay on my way up to Scotland. Fabulous hospitality and made to feel very welcome. Had a peaceful night's sleep. Janice cooks a mean omelette for breakfast and enjoyed my packed lunch. Lovely estuary walking and lots of nature reserves in the area. Would stay again if in the area.”

“I stayed for one night and appreciated having an affordable place close to the station, with plenty of shops nearby. I was also happy to find a kettle with coffee and tea, which made for a fresh and pleasant morning. The only downside was that there was no hand soap or shampoo provided, which would have made the stay more comfortable. Overall, I’m satisfied with what I received for the price and happy with my stay”

“Some people were born to host. Maurice & Laureen have created a very special B&B experience for anyone lucky enough to stay. It feels more like a boutique 5* hotel with attention to detail and luxury furnishings. “The room was not serviced on two days out of four - the reason given was that the housekeeper did not work those days. The restaurant was closed for evening meals at short notice. The entrance door was closed and locked early in the evening and my keys did not work on occasions.”

“Dianne went out of her way to be helpful at all steps of our stay. Great parking facilities, great shower, comfy bed. Everything needed was provided and well thought through. We were able to arrange to collect the keys early as we were due at a wedding and Dianne went out of her way to help us arrange a taxi booking to and from the venue nearby. Breakfast was varied and plentiful.”

“The bed was very comfortable and despite the head I slept really well both nights. Location is excellent within easy walking distance of town centre. Breakfast was first class both days and set me up perfectly on both days.”

“Staff were excellent and so helpful. Food and breakfast service was first class. The bathrrom was very modern clean and well kept. The carpet was stained and did have a little fusty smell however the overall experience and amenties were good in the room. The tea caddy table did need to be bigger was difficult to make drink on there. ”
