“I quite enjoyed my stay at the Mountaineer Inn. I went for Lurch Fest (in August), a fest for Philippi native Ted Cassidy, tv’s original Lurch. I had read reviews before I booked so know that there have been some upgrades. They DO have key cards and shampoo in the bathrooms. I saw some new flooring so it looks like renovations have started. “They were very friendly amd baked cookies every evening for the guests, that was great, but no room service, at least not for me. I stayed three nights, not even a clean towel or emptied trash. I didnt care for that part. Many hotels are.going that route, just let me say that when traveling, its nice to have a personal touch, like a nicely made bed.”

“Lovely B and B in a stately, historic house. Marsha is an excellent host. The food is excellent and most comes from their working farm or other WV farms. The surrounding property is beautiful.

“This is a 1905 Victorian farmhouse (ie 1905 Victorian in middle of farm 😆). Beautiful, serene that takes you back in time. Only note is that there are 2 bathrooms for the 4 bedrooms - again house from 1905… well kept and they had a great library if you wanted to checked out plants/birds/mushrooms/etc… for the area. Marsha was great and had lots of suggestions. We’ll plan a longer stay next time. Photo was shot from balcony next to our room.”
