Hi Terry, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you were less than thrilled with your stay with us. I really wished you had given us an opportunity to address your issues during your stay, so that you had a chance to enjoy your time here more. Making our guests happy is our number one priority as hosts, but we can’t do that if you don’t give us the chance to. We reach out to every guest during their stay to ensure everything is ok, but we never received a response from you when we did. My husband did end up having several extended conversations with you on our patio, and even then, you made no mention of your displeasure, and made it seem like you were very much enjoying your stay, and even told us that you found the place to be “very lovely”. So, I have to admit, I am rather shocked and blind-sided by this poor review. There is so much we could have and would have done to make things more comfortable and enjoyable for you, had we known the room was too cold for you, or that you were the kind of guest that really enjoyed hanging with the hosts. In these COVID times, we have found that most guests prefer their privacy and space, and with you ignoring our attempts to communicate and touch base with you we wrongly assumed you were in this category, we do our best to read the cues of our guests and anticipate needs, but we don’t always get it right! We do however always work to make things right when we haven’t. If you wouldn’t mind spending the time, I would really appreciate it if you would reach out and provide more details as to what you felt was not accurately represented in our listing pictures. We earnestly want our guests to have an accurate idea as to what exactly our listing has to offer, so that they can make the best decision for themselves whether our space will suit their needs. We will use the information you have provided to correct the issues and provide any additional clarification on things as necessary. We want our guests to be happy and enjoy their stay, so are glad for the opportunity to improve upon our practices to do so. Take care, and safe travels!

Since this review is vague and does not provide much information, please allow me to clarify. The "issue" this guest had with us was in the fact that we retained our security deposit due to damages incurred by this guest as a result of a direct violation of our house rules. Otherwise we showed this guest the utmost courtesy and respect during her stay and even while dealing with the issue of damages. We went above and beyond for her as we do every guest that chooses to stay in our accommodations. My husband and I work tirelessly to ensure our guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay. For this particular guest my husband even spent 45 minutes outside during a heat advisory to change this lady's flat tire for her. That's the kind of host we try to be with our guests. We value and respect our guests immensely. But if someone comes into our home and repays our warmth and kindness by disrespecting our rules and destroying our property as well as our ability to earn a living then yes, I will not hesitate to collect the security deposit that is in place for just such reasons. It is unfortunate that is lady felt the need to do even further damage to my business than what she already has by leaving this retaliatory review to hurt my listing's ability to obtain future bookings. It is my hope that this explanation provides a clearer and more accurate picture as to who we are as hosts and what you may actually expect should you choose to book with us.
