Description

Discover the lush vegetation of Mount Etna, Europe's largest volcano, before heading to the beautiful Alcantara Gorge. Marvel at the unique volcanic canyons and rest your feet in the refreshing water of the river. Make the most of your holidays and explore Sicily's natural treasures.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013, Mount Etna is in a constant state of eruption. Hop aboard your coach to see the majestic volcano for yourself. Pass through ancient craters and lavish forests and hear about the last major eruption in 1928, when the lava flows destroyed the small town of Mascali.

Your next stop is the Alcantara Gorge, located on Mount Etna's north-eastern slopes. The gorge was formed thousands of years ago, when the Alcantara River carved deep incisions into the rock after a series of volcanic eruptions. Take the stairs and descend into the heart of the gorge, where you can admire the beautiful waterfalls, small beaches and vertical cliffs in whimsical forms.
