Overall I'm glad we picked this hotel. The staff at the hotel were super nice! The floor in our room was a bit squeaky, but we barely heard anything from the floor above us. The pool was a very comfortable temperature and the sauna felt good. They had a heavy snow early on the day we checked in, so we were glad to have a lower level to park in!

This was a very cute and quite nice stay. There are a lot of stairs if you don’t have great mobility that may be a consideration.

Employees friendly and helpful. Our unit had a small but complete kitchen. The indoor pool and hot tub a definite plus. I'll go back.

I was very disappointed in this lodge I booked thru Hotels.com. The condition was terrible we didn’t get into our room until late or we would have left then we slept there and checked out the next morning I asked for a refund but was told I would have to go thru hotels.com I am shocked that Hotels.com would have this on their site and it show an excellent rating

The room was small and the "kitchenette" was two electric stove top burners with a recirculating hood that was about 10 inches above the burners, but it worked for cooking mac and cheese and pancakes! The room was clean and the indoor pool, jaccuzi, and mega lodge -even with the outdated and some broken arcade machines- was super fun for the family. I would stay here again in a heartbeat to be 5 minutes from Sugar Mountain and Hawks Nest tubing.

The property is dated, but clean and a good place to stay. The appliances in the kitchen are literally from the early 80s, but they still work. The TVs are up to date. The room was clean, the pool was clean, but everything was dated. Overall I would stay here again, but not before looking at other options.

Needs updating
Lodge could definitely use some love. Smelled like moth balls throughout the facility, amenities noted as “available” were at an extra cost (pool, arcade, etc) or dirty (sauna and hot tub). Beds were dated and uncomfortable, dishes were to be washed by guests so it is unknown if they were actually clean from prior guest or not.

The property was dated, but that added to the charm! Very cozy, mountain feel with clean rooms and very clean indoor pool and hot tub. Also had a lot of things to do in the lodge (pool table, air hockey, foosball, video games). We'll definitely return when we're in the area!

This was a nice place to stay in. I didn't like it that sometimes there was no staff there, which is rather strange. But the rooms had stuff for cooking, a stove.

The check-in process wasn't good. Site said check-in was after 4. Got to the lodge and after looking around quite a bit found a sign that said checking in after 4, call security at a number.

Parking area was small. Had an F-150 but still had to maneuver in and out of a tight lot. Checked in after 4 so had to contact security. We're on vacation but found we had to naintain our own trash, towel exchange and meals. Only dinner places close by. Nothing for breakfast and only gas stations for shopping.

Good enough
Hotel was in a good location for what we were doing. Room was from the 80's, not necessarily a bad thing. The shower took awhile for the water to heat up, pressure was low. No shampoo, so had to go buy some. There was a sky light in the room. Bed was comfortable. It was a no frills type of place. Good enough to rest after our adventures

It is a very old lodge in need of updates but the staff was super friendly. Ground floor rooms were a bit musty but everything was clean with extra towels and blankets in the closet.

The room was clean and neat and very convenient as it had the kitchenette. The only two complaints I have which aren’t really significant, were the window unit blows at nearly ceiling level, so the room was somewhat difficult to keep cool. The other was that you have to remove your own trash, the garbage bin was easily accessible but I was not able to reach the top to open to dispose of the bag (luckily there wasn’t much at all) so I had to take it with me and find elsewhere. However the pool was great and the view of Grandfather Mountain was amazing. I would stay here again, but definitely ask how I could remedy the garbage situation.

Outside of the building needs painting. Of this was done, it would be perfect! Everything else was great ! Especially the pool area !

Loved it! Hotel is quaint, very clean. It has a nice pool and hot tub. Laura at the deal was excellent, friendly, and has superior customer service skills. The accommodations are great, like little apartments! I will definitely be coming back!

Great place
I had a great stay. Used Hotels.com to book, checked in at the front desk upon arrival without any issue. The lobby/ gaming area was very pretty and open. My room was nice and clean, plenty of linen and towels. Compared to the pictures on the add of the rooms I believe there has been some renovations. The room had a small stove, refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven which all appeared to be new along with the cabinets. Overall it was a nice peaceful stay, scenery was great, will be staying here again in the future!
