Our room was very nice. However, the toilet kept refilling every minute or so-even after our notifying the front desk. Also, no one came to empty trash or change towels during our stay. We were there Friday through Tuesday. All that being said, the restaurant was fantastic and I’d give a walkability score of 90. Not good for people who have trouble with stairs but we would gladly stay there again!

Great location for visiting Concord. Very small room/tiny bath with basic furnishings, not as attractive/cozy as the online photos make it look, but comfortable enough. The building is a warren with multiple tight staircases to get between parking lot, front desk, and room, a bit inconvenient with luggage and not at all accessible if we'd had mobility challenges. It's a historic building, but on the inside, looks merely dated (more like a 30-year-old dormitory than an 18th-century hotel). Some exterior doors were randomly locked, others said they were but weren't. We didn't try the restaurant; breakfast wasn't available on weekdays and we were elsewhere in the evenings. Overall, I would be willing to stay here again but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

However, currently, we are going under renovation and hopefully you will revisit this property once the renovation completed..

Allllll the vibes and atmosphere, rooms are fine.
My daughter and I stayed here on our mother/daughter literary road trip to visit Orchard House, Walden Pond, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, and Emerson House (closed, sadly). The vibe and location of the Colonial Inn are unbeatable, especially at Christmas time, when there are wreaths and garlands everywhere, and candles in every window. Concord is tiny and very walkable, but we did have a car, and parking was free and ample. The Forge bar is tiny but packed with atmosphere, and Sabas is the best bartender in the game. I accidentally left my credit card on the bar one night, and he made sure it was safely waiting for me at the front desk in the morning. I will say the rooms are just average. Our first room was very small and so hot we had a to sleep with a window open when it was 30 degrees outside. The rollaway we requested was terrifically uncomfortable and took up all our floorspace. We were upgraded to a larger 2-bed room for $20 the following night and that was much more comfortable. The staff was very nice, and overall we had a pleasant stay. I would stay here again if I ever found myself back in Concord.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. We loved being in the heart of Concord and the hotel complimented the surrounding historical area perfectly We never did see a ghost, not sure if that was good or bad. We had dinner there the first night and enjoyed our meal thoroughly. The one thing I would have a potential visitor be aware of is that it can be a little difficult for someone with a physical impairment to navigate at times. My wife had broken her ankle and was on crutches. Our room was downstairs and she had to negotiate some stairs no matter which way we used to get up to the lobby and dining area. There was a walkout exit in the rear but it was locked after 9:30 pm, I believe, which can make things a little tricky if you get in later. I would emphasize that for us it was not a deal breaker, but it’s something to consider if you have mobility issues.

Although I booked a room in advance and paid for it with my credit card, when I arrived at 11:30 pm I was turned out into the cold. I was told I could not check in without a driver's license or passport. I had neither. I did have the credit card with my name on it and which I had used to pay for the room in advance. I have been reserving rooms through expedia for decades. I found no statement on the hotel website that I would need one of these IDs. They will never get my business in the future.

The Concord Colonial Inn is an older place with lots of character. It is interesting to stay in such an establishment with such history. It is not for everyone but it was excellent for me.

Second time my wife and I stayed her and have always been happy. Central ocation in quiet Concord. Nice colonial atmposphere, lodging is good, restaurants serve good food. Excellent idea when visiting Boston but dont want to stay in the city...15 mins drive.

The property is an historic inn, it is old and so there are uneven floors, lot and lots of stairways and doorways (andand ghosts ). It does not have elevators so be prepared. It can be easy to get turned around. But it is charming and in a beautiful historic town with lovely shops and restaurants. We stayed in a suite with three people, there was plenty of space for us. One person slept on the love seat sized pull out couch. The mattress was very thin and old. We requested an extra blanket and pillow which were eventually delivered. There were two tv’s, one in the common space and one in the separate bedroom but there was only one remote to control both tv’s. We requested another one but it was never delivered. Again The Concord Colonial Inn is by historic as well as the town itself, if you love beautiful homes and history I highly recommend this property.

We liked all the historical aspects and being able to walk around the town easily. There were restaurants and drink options within the hotel that were nice too.

The exterior is quaint and the history of building is very interesting. Inside it’s dated, difficult to find way through maze of halls and stairs. The parking lot is very small. When we arrived there were no spots. We were told to find a spot on the street and probably after the restaurant closed we should be able to find a spot. After dinner, we did find one spot left. Restaurant was great. But room was small and bed was not comfortable. We felt like we rolled to middle. Would recommend the restaurant.

The room was not ready when we arrived, and we ended up being late to a wedding, the rooms are filthy even though I had asked for a clean room because I had read other reviews commenting on that, there was not enough parking in the back lot, there was no signage in the back lot for The Colonial Inn and getting to the lobby was a circuitous maze and only with the assistance of kindly guests -- the workers couldn't be bothered, they were "on break" - did I find my way to check in with s curt manager overworked dealing alone with a very long line. And when I finally settled on an alternate room because of my time constraints, even the bathroom hadn't been cleaned! I was assured there were blackout shades -- there are not! And the alarm clock blaringly woke us at 6am, completely gratuitous! I love historic inns but this was us a complete disaster, understaffed, poorly maintained, just filthy. A complete disappointment.

Dear Gila,We are also disappointed to read your review, which was not the case at all. You arrived at our front desk at 3:35PM, when we had a line of people (at least 10 people) ahead of you. Unfortunately, every guest has their needs and nobody wants to give their space in the queue their line. Check in process usually takes 5 minutes. We are really sorry to hear that you think you are being late has something to do with us. As our manager said, we do not control your or other guests' timing. It is also incorrect that you mentioned there were desk agents "on break". We had one person at the desk and he was doing his absolute best to check everybody in. It would be good to see his efforts and the help being mentioned, desk agent brought your two heavy luggage upstairs. We have shown you signs multiple times. We are saddened to read that you think your room was dirty. Which is another incorrect accusation. Our manager escorted you to your room and he also asked you about your room. Nothing was mentioned there either. We actually heard the opposite from you when we were showing your room to you. Parking lot was a problem, but apparently you found a spot. Once again, we are saddened to read that you being in a rush/hurry/in a chaotic situation is our problem. Your husband left right after you and we asked him how his stay was and his response was "great, thank you very much". Sincerely,
