The location is great, walking distance to most attractions, we basically parked our car the car when we arrived and didn't touch it until we left a few days after check in.
Hotel itself was nice and clean, some minor rough spots in the bathroom (looked like a piece of tile around shower was loose/missing), but nothing to really be alarmed about. The bed was my biggest complaint - while my 11 year old slept well, my wife and I both tossed and turned and woke up with sore backs. Oh well . . .
The rest of the hotel was very clean, the pool was nice - although the floors were very wet (its a pool, so can't really control that) - so you just needed to be careful. The complementary breakfast was great for a quick bit before starting the day (eggs, cereal, bagels, muffins, waffle maker).
Our few dealings with the staff were very friendly, but once checked in we didn't really bother them or need them for anything else.
There are some homeless in Salem as well as a cannabis dispensary near by, but overall the area was safe. Its a city so it has city problems just like everywhere else in spots.
Overall, great stay and would come back again. Salem is a fun little town and great for walking and this location was at the center of most of it.
