The location is wonderful, and the age of the building adds to the rather special atmosphere. Our windows were from the 15th century. The kids' room was a little spooky, and down some tricky steps, so we just brought the mattresses from there into our room, no problem. A rather wonderful treat was the pull-down screen in our room, which meant an indoor cinema experience. Bring your own DVDs maybe if you have kids, as there is only one. Breakfast was a bit much - both in terms of quantity and flavour, for us. However, it was beautifully presented and tasted great - I just struggled with such rich food at such an early hour. The art in the building is David's own - very intricate and hugely talented, but quite 'dark'. Interesting for the children, ahem! Very friendly people work here and there is a gorgeous cat. A place to remember. Very glad we stayed.
