Thanks for your review. The cabins were built over 100 years ago at a time when people didn't expect as much space as we do now. We do send warnings to all our guests about the road noise. There would have been 3 messages sent to you in advance of your arrival. Still, your cabin was further back than some of the other ones. Our prices are quite a bit lower than the other resorts in the area, and while they won't have the noise from the vehicles, they do get trains passing by quite close. When booking on any of the sites it's quite clear that we are 1/2 way between Banff and Lake Louise... I suppose we are a more appropriate choice for those wanting to have quick access to some of the amazing trails near by or to get away from the crowds and traffic of the towns, which can be quite terrible through-out the day.

We would love to be able to move the cabins back a 100m into the woods... There are a couple of cabins a bit too close to the highway. I'm glad you were able to enjoy your stay with us despite the noise from the road.

I guess you did not read any information about our lodge before arriving.... We send messages letting guests know we are next to the highway. There is a restaurant in the main lodge. Not sure how you missed seeing it. We also send messages letting guests know how to reserve a table at our restaurant. We are not located in a town... so if you were not interested in dining with us, you would need to drive to Banff or Lake Louise. This is no different that any of the other Cabin resorts in the Park. We let our guests know that check-in is at 4:00. Our front desk doesn't always know what cabins housekeeping has completed and sometimes it is difficult to call house keeping as they use vacuums and other things so they might not hear their phones. We only have one person at the front desk, so it would be difficult for her to run around the property trying to find the housekeepers. I'm sorry you were disappointed with your stay, but again, if you were expecting to stay in a Day's Inn or Hilton, this is not the place for you. Also, please read about the place you are staying at and the emails that get sent to you before arrival to avoid disappointment.

Thanks for pointing out the lamps. Housekeeping failed to report the issue of the lamps in your cabin to maintenance. We are constantly doing upgrades to the property since we took it over 2 years ago. It's been quite a big project. As for the the money charged, this reflects the input costs of generating our electricity, the rising cost of propane, increasing wages, insurance going from 20k to over 50k, rising lease payments and property taxes paid to Parks Canada.... In 2 years our costs have more than doubled, but we have managed to keep our cabin cost increases to around 15%.

Thanks for the review. We keep 70% of our cabins as pet friendly. The other 30 are hypoallergenic. As for the prices in our restaurant, you will find them to be comparable, if not a little lower than restaurants in Banff. The costs of ingredients, wages and transportation have had a major impact on pricing and the profit margin is extremely thin.

We do mention on our website and booking confirmations about traffic for people with noise sensitivities. Unfortunately it was much worse than normal during your stay as there was a fatal accident on the Trans-Canada which re-routed all the traffic to Hwy 93 for 2 days.
