Everything was great once we found it except for being charged twice for the same night. Still waiting on our refund.

Cozy and economical
If you need a place to stay near the highway that is affordable, then Rodeway is it. You get a no-frills basic stay at a property that is well-managed - featuring nice, clean rooms with great TV offerings. Certainly bathroom components are older, but well-maintained (at least in the room we stayed in). It is great to have coffee, croissants and pastries in the a.m. and even Wi-Fi. The staff is great as well.

great hotel for cheap price
Awesome experiance for the rate..very very clean...every thing was good they even served breakfast ,less options but good...we checked in late but they have 24 hours check in policy which was great..we took a non smoking room and it was really very much clean...very clean tidy bathrooms..Overall great stay:)

Ok room for the money
I was in Charlotte for the weekend and wanted a cheap hotel. The hotel was ok, nothing to brag about. The room was a smoking room and had holes in the sheets. The hotel also could use some updates but the bed was comfortable and the location was VERY convenient.

Pleasently surprised!
I was in town with my 2 teen aged boys for a huge rock concert. The hotel was full of concert goers but nobody bothered us. The room was great. Quiet, clean and well stocked. The staff was very helpful. The concert and check-in time overlapped but the staff allowed us to check in early, and also gave me the option to check in after the show (around midnight). It's right off the interstate and I had no issues w/the neighborhood. I would stay here again with no hesitation.

Easy access to I-85 and the Charlotte area.
This is a nice motel for those needing a decent place to stay. It has easy access to the interstate and the local area. Its about 10 minutes from the Charlotte Motor Speedway area.

It was cheap and the quality wasn't great.
Bed was too hard. It was very noisy and hard to sleep soundly.

I stay there for one night because i visited Charlotte. The area around the Hotel was ok but i felt it's not safe for me.

Overnighter for my Dad and me.
Friendly staff and clean rooms. Pillows were thin however for a good nights rest while on the road the price can't be beat.

Nice Hotel
We only spent 1 night there and it just what we needed. The room wasn't anything fancy, but it was clean, stocked, and a safe location. Located right off HWY 85, easy to get to, and had a wonderful restaurant/saloon with GREAT food right beside it.

Overnight rest on long road trip
The hotel was suitable. I think we were in it for less than 12 hours. The main concern was that the room was a smoking room, and it smelled a little foul. I have stayed in other smoking rooms that are aired out after someone leaves. This one, was not.

Place to lay your head
I had a single King smoking room since that's all that was available. With a little bit of febreeze, the smoke smell was eleminated but the bed could use replacing. It was hard and probably old. The only amenity in the room was a small fridge, no coffee maker or microwave. Overall room was clean, but the sheets had a burn spot and the bathtub looked like it wasn't cleaned very well last time. One table and chair, tube tv and a set of dresser drawers that were a step away from being a broken hunk of junk. Location is decent, right off the hw, about a mile from food lion and Walgreens, near other hotels and cook out is right down the street. Only down side is that to turn left towards the highway, you usually have to turn right and pull a upturn because of traffic. Front desk staff was very friendly!! I was rarely in my room so for $65/ngt it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't recommend them for a place to relax.

nice and clean
I only stayed overnight and got in very late. Getting the key was fast and easy. They only had a smoking room available when I booked the hotel but I had no problem getting it changed when I arrived. There was a small refrigerator that was great because I carry water and ice packs with me all the time. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay there again.

Our room smelled terrible
It smelled like mildew as soon as we walked in the door. The pool was closed because it was not up to handicap accessible standards, and breakfast in the morning looked like it had been bought from the bodega two doors over. It was fairly close to the Charlotte Amphitheater, which was what we needed, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Nice little hotel, not the best part of town
The hotel staff was courteous and friendly, and the morning coffee was convenient. Everything seemed very clean, all the supplies were stocked, and the towels and sheets were fresh. If it weren't for the sirens going off outside it would have been as relaxing as any hotel stay I've had.

Nice hotel conveniently located
Staff was very nice and accommodating. Hotels.com showed smoking only and the hotel.com rep contacted the manager and they changed the room to non smoking in advance of my stay. Convenient off the freeway, food places nearby, clean room, great service and for the price on a big weekend couldn't be beat. The only reason I gave a 3 for overall is door access is outside. I prefer hotels where all room access is inside. Its an older hotel but kept well. Recommend if you are looking for a comfortable place to sleep and don't need frills.

Hotel close to the race track!
We came down for a concert and we stayed here. It was close to the raceway and we were able to check in shortly after checkout from the previous day and we were able to stay til noon to check out the following day.

Room was very clean and spacious (one king bed). Also, Huge bathroom with tiled floor. Since I forgot my slippers, tile was cold to my feet. Overall, this is like a 20-30 yr. old motel, but very nicely maintained and clean. The old fashion, approx. 30" CRT TV screen display was disappointing. Price for Charlotte, NC was among the lowest, but with above average value. Location was very convenient to my convention at the Metrolina Center. Staff (probably owners) were very eager to please: made fresh coffee without being asked, gave very good directions and sent me to a great local family resturant for an excellent breakfast (and inexpensive). Had small refrig and microwave in room that worked well and was convenient. Apparently, they are often not filled and very convenient to I-85.

Dive in!!!
What a dive!!! Heard gun shots in the middle of the night! Asked for a non-smoking room, got a room that was sprayed with Fabreeze to kill the SMOKE smell!!! Just nasty!!! I slept on top of the bed because I was afraid of bed bugs!!!

Nice for the $ and if it's just for overnight
Was picking a friend up late from the airport. We only had a few hours to kill so didn't want to spend a lot of $. Room was decent for what I was looking for. Front desk clerk was very accomidating. Would stay there again if I need a few hours to kill for the $.

My stay was very nice. It was very convenient to the highway. Located in a safe neighborhood and had plenty of local places to eat. The staff was the best i've experienced in any hotel before (nice and very courteous).

Old, outdated and NOT in University Place area
You know you've made a mistake in choosing a hotel when you go to check in and you are directed by a handwritten sign to the "night window". Problems 1. Very old and outdated , see pictures 2. Not in the university place area 3. Unsafe area Pros 1. Large room 2. Refrigerator 3. Free WiFi Just not worth the risk and inconvenience.

They would not give me a room on the first floor. The staff member who helped me was rued. The bbreakfast was very poor, and the guy kept locking the door to the breakfast room.

Simple clean room - decent location, good service
Stayed with family. Easy to find this place - 200 yards after the exit. It was clean and neat. TV is old fashioned - picture tube - did not watch any TV. Microwave is available at the reception - Breakfast is avoidable. Meets the needs for a comfortable sleep/freshening up. Don't expect luxury!

Good deal for the cost on a shady part of town
This hotel was pretty nice, and a good deal for the cost. The bed was comfortable, the shower had excellent pressure, and the room was a good size. The staff were also very friendly. The only down side about this hotel was the location in a shady part of town.

I was disappointed with the continental breakfast. It was a pastry and juice. The area felt unsafe. My door lock messed up and my key nor the master key worked. They fixed the door lock and it could have happened anywhere. My car broke down and management was not helpful at all.

Hospital appt
Needed a room so we could be close to hospital and not have to drive the day of appt. It was a very clean and comfortable room and staff were friendly. No frills but what you need.

Ok for emergency stay - not as advertised
We had to book a place that was economical for an emergency visit to see a family member that was at the hospital on life support. We had been told that it had just gone through renovations. Not true, it is dated early 80s at best. Continental Breakfast was one stale crossaint and no coffee in the main check-in area which was the size of a large bedroom. We had to eat at the hospital. Just disappointed. if you just need a few hours sleep and not picky, then...ok.

Returning to Charlotte to attend a funeral. We chose this hotel because of the location--we knew it was safe-convenient to I-85 with food & gas nearby. It is not the Marriot!! This hotel is clean/priced well. The lady at the desk was very nice. We had coffee in our room but did not use-- If I need to return I will go back to this Roadway.

Well, the hotel was nice, especially for the price. It wasn't modernized like some are, but it was definitely clean, which is all that really matters.
