As this was our first stay at a Best Western we found the property to be adequate. The room was clean and quiet and the bathroom had been nicely updated.
Brittany was at the front desk and checked us in to a 2nd floor room and said Door 3 would be best way to enter. After we navigated the goose pooped filled parking lot we entered Door 3 and proceed down the hall with all our belongings to find no elevator. When we got to the front desk to ask about the elevator, Brittany gave a smug smile and said “oh there isn’t one”.
We left the room in the morning and left a tip and a note to ask for more towels please. When we got back around 6pm the room had not been entered or cleaned at all. I went to front desk but no one was there. I heard voices in the laundry room and found Brittany chatting with another woman who was folding sheets. Brittany said if I wanted towels or room cleaned I would have had to request it when we checked in. She said her staff had left and no one could clean room and she begrudgingly gave me some towels that were behind the front desk and I carried them up the stairs and back to my room.
I have never encountered such nonchalant and poor service from a front desk person. After she told us that our room wouldn’t be cleaned, a courteous and kind option might have been to offer us a room across the hall for the next night. It was a Sunday and most guests had checked out.
Would I stay at a Best Western again? Sure. But not with Brittany.
